No two farms share the same best method of doing things, but my experience is the fuel savings of one pass are often outweighed by the benefit of extra biomass achieved by waiting and crimping later. Up to a month later with beans. Especially if you are delaying planting to wait for the cover crop to reach the right stage. I do have the Dawn system I can use on the planter if I’m planting really late. With corn, you may need to do both at planting, and a later pass with a vetch inclusive mix.
