You guys said Connor hits like a truck but he hit all gloves like a truck would do to a brick wall. Connor is to big so he comes in 20+lbs heavier then floyd. Floyd won't fight in 8oz gloves so he fights in 8 oz gloves. Connor has crazy angles so he uses those angles to get floyds back attack him from behind and rabbit punch. Now let me tell you about Connor. Connors power is over rated and the only reason why he wins in the UFC with hands is because his opponents suck at boxing and don't have the skills. Cody Garbrandt will KO Connor his skills i have seen are superior. Connor never tucks his chin his legs don't move with his hands his hands always by his hip after he throws or when hes only throwing one punch the other is by his hip. Connor throws slapping punches. Connor was exposed and has no boxing future now ya'll can go back to your mma BS and leave us a lone while i watch some real boxing. PS. i love mma also but i can't stand the biased of one is better then the other and the excuses from the mma fans who said if Floyd gets KO'd no excuses but you guys have all the excuses when floyd wins. Time to eat crow

I agree with him 100%!! I think that Floyd could have easily finished him in the earlier rounds but held back just to give the fans more of a show. I was so disappointed at McGregor's lack of punching power considering that left hand of his was predicted to do so much damage. Most of the punches he landed were similar to that of a pillow fight.

@Octavus5
@Octavus5 6 жыл бұрын
Niklas Bendtner Conor wasn't dominating. That was just an illusion created by Floyd. He said he was going to come forward. He said the plan was to let Conor do his thing in the early rounds. He said he was going to give the fans a show. He smiled and mugged for the cameras through the entire fight. Mayweather was not a man that was ever in trouble. If he wanted, he could have slipped, weaved and counter-punched per his usual and gave us another typical but boring fight. Mayweather pressed the action and Conor was in trouble by the 4th. He didn't know how to handle the relentless forward pressure. Floyd schooled Conor, but Conor also beat himself with his terrible cardio. Conor was neither in shape to box nor does he know how to box. The type of striking that works with 4oz gloves just doesn't work in 8oz gloves. The rabbit punches were nonsense -- illegal in both boxing and MMA. And a waste of energy.

vMoney 2k Stop with this real fight shit. Conor was doing illegal shit and it still didn't affect Floyd. Conor is just overrated plain and simple. If Conor was a black belt in jujitsu, karate and judo then I would give him all the credit. But Conor is mainly a striker and in a real fight with no rules, Conor would still get his ass kicked. I do both boxing and MMA and in street fights when guys try and challenge me my boxing always wins. So unless you know fighting then talk other than that shut your stupid ass. Stop whinnying about this, no excuses Conor got humiliated.

James Washington stop with that bs. He obviously did not want to get caught with that uppercut . Hes not that stupid. He got countered while throwing a right hand thats just it he got outboxed at that moment . Nowhere in his plans he wanted to get caught with any of those shots. But as mayweather started to download the data of conor he started to take over and thats it plus the fatigue of conor helped alot , if conor had not fatigued the fight would have gone to a decision .
@jw6871
@jw6871 6 жыл бұрын
Ayman Chalak are you serious? Conor was wobbled not because of Fatigue, but because he was getting beaten up. Floyd landed clean shot after shot after shot. McGregor was backing up and basically running away at that point. Imagine if the fight continued for two more rounds... The ref saved Conor from future brain damage lmao. Floyd was playing with McGregor the whole time, grinning and walking down a bigger man. He never fought like this before in his life. This shit was too easy.

@MrTrexPrehistoric 6 жыл бұрын
Htx457 That's no excuse, MMA fighters throw punches too, who's fault is it that they still don't know how to punch properly. McGregor did amateur boxing, that tells you that boxing rejects make it into MMA, but a MMA guy won't make it in boxing, you need to be born a boxer you can't just become a great boxer, you must be born with the talent.
@verhiron2493
@verhiron2493 6 жыл бұрын
Since when did htx say anything about it being a real fight? I think what he's saying is mayweather was forced to give up rounds so that mcgregor could tire out and then he could unleash all those rocking hits. You can never say mayweather would have knocked out mcgregor in lets say the first 3 rounds its just not plausible. If mayweather gave up defense in those first three to four rounds and went just as offensive as mcgregor he would be more likely to get knocked out but because mayweathers specialty is being extremely good at defense and being calculative and patient it was in his best interest to wait until mcgregor tires out and then unload his punches (which is common sense in this match up). Maybe mayweather could have knocked mcgregor down in like round 7 or 8 but from watching through to 10 you could see mcgregor kinda just refused to drop and kept bouncing along the ropes until the match was finally stopped. At the end of the day Mayweather is one smart fighter, he patiently waited until he knew he could 100% captialise and win the match and it was just a matter of time really (any minute past round 5 was clearly mayweather starting to unleash those much harder punches on a fatigued mcgregor which also allowed them to be more effective).
@MrTrexPrehistoric
@MrTrexPrehistoric 6 жыл бұрын
Htx457 Connor McGregor practices boxing, he was amateur boxer prior to joining MMA and 75% of MMA is boxing. So why are you acting like McGregor was like a fish out of water? Maywheather has never trained on kicks and grappling, but McGregor has been boxing all his life, so it was a fair match up, the fact that McGregor is a shyt boxer is nobody's concern.
@optimusman88

its true. Floyd could've ended this in the first 2/3 rounds if he wanted to. he put on a show for everyone cuz that's what he said he would do before this fight happened. he had no respect for Conors power and kept walking up. and remember, Floyd is 40 lol
@PerfectSnowball
@PerfectSnowball 6 жыл бұрын
Floyd ending it early would have been better for his legacy. He's arguing he's the greatest ever and yet lost 2-3 rounds against someone who's never had even an amateur fight. Floyd's analysis of the fight was correct. He studied Conor, realised, as evident in his recent fights, that Conor's dangerous early, but gasses out after the first five minutes. Floyd, not willing to take any risks, fought Conor in a way that neutralised any potential early knockout and then pressed Conor as he faded. It was more of an endurance contest than a fight.

Floyd determined he could take conors punches in the first few seconds and literally made a decision to let the fight go on for late rounds to entertain the fans and ppv buys. His post interview w/ Steven A he said he sent somebody to place a bet that the fight would make it 9 rounds. Said he tried to get 400,000 but they only let him bet 87,000- Not lyin', go check it out.😂 Floyd could've dismantled conor in 1st couple rounds just like this guy said. MMA guys underestimate boxing, even in a cage fight. Even in a street brawl a boxer would knock out an MMA guy lots of the time. If it goes to ground obviously an MMA guy has it, but punches end a lot of MMA fights anyway.

Reading these comments has me amazed. People honestly think that Canelo and other greats of boxing could easily transfer to MMA and dominate. People saying "They just need to learn takedown defense" put any boxer in with Khabib, Edgar, Askren or Cormier and see how their 6 months of training takedown defense works out hahaha
@karangtavana1283
@karangtavana1283 2 жыл бұрын
Adesanya came from a pure kickboxing background and transitions into mma in his late 20’s with no wrestling experience and runs through everyone after learning takedown defense. If Adesanya can do it, why can’t Canelo or GGG? Plus, canelo and GGG punch 50 times harder than Adesanya, and GGG actually has a wrestling background, just like many kazakhstani and Russian boxers.

Mayweather had an $87k bet on himself to win before round 9.5, by knockout. He achieved this one minute before round 9.5. He had also completely changed up his style from defensive to walking down in early rounds, to prove that he can adapt because in his words "champions adapt" and also it gave the match some life rather than being a 3 round knockout. McGregor actually only won the first round according to the scorecards, which makes sense because he was being tested effectively. He also had no point deductions for continuous rabbit punching and behind fighting/MMA style mounting. So, I guess he dominated the first round, which is part of the tactics.

McGregor was allowed to box for 36 mins, he didn't earn it haha. Hence back headhammers and grappling went unpunished. Can't hype a match up for it to last 1 round, especially if you've got a bet on yourself in the later rounds.

1:35 - The fact this simple truth was overlooked, or ignored is absolute truth of how so many in the mma world were carried-away, once again, by a hype-train. Ronda was the first. Conor was second. If you're not an elite tennis player....you're not going to beat Serena Williams at her own game. If you're not a Judoka....you're not beating Ronda at Judo. If you're not a BJJ practioner...you're not going to beat Marcelo Garcia on the mat. It really was THAT simple. Props to Conor for not barfing under the sheer magnitude of the event, but he never belonged there.

Oh god I'm so sick of these people saying Conor should be given some kind of participation trophy for showing up and living through those 10 rounds. Floyd sat back the first three, let him punch his little heart out and then he went in for the kill. I agree with Tony, Floyd could've ended that fight whenever he wanted to. And stop with the "floyd wouldn't last 30 seconds in the octagon" crap - NO he wouldn't last in the cage, but Floyd's not the one who lowkey stalked McGregor, claiming he was the king of MMA, poking fun of him for his age/fitness/clothing/finances, or guaranteeing a KO inside two rounds, now was he? McGregor talked a ton of shit for MONTHS and now it's time for people to accept he LOST because he wasn't good enough to compete with Floyd. Period. No excuses.

I completely agree with what this dude and Pauli Malignaggi said, no power at all behind Conor's Punches. I mean Conor showed no Boxing skills at all. He didn't use his size, bigger reach, or distance, he took advantage of nothing he supposedly learned from boxing. Instead, he seemed confused switching stances, being off balance, and throwing sucker punches. I can't imagine if he would've jabbed, set shot combinations, or set the proper distance from the start, he would have completely gassed out wearing 8oz gloves by the end of the fourth round.

Conor had gained so much confidence prior to fighting Mayweather because 1) he was naturally bigger than Floyd, 2) Floyd was 40+ years of age, 3) Floyd had been in retirement for almost 2 years , 4) Floyd wasn't a pressure fighter so Conor was probably relieved that he wouldn't be facing a guy who would be after him continually, 5) Floyd hadn't been KOing opponents in recent years (hand trouble) and 6) Conor probably cherished the real possibility that Floyd would age overnight in there...........................I give Conor credit for doing well during the early rounds but if he were to face a champion boxer who is roughly the same size and roughly the same age and who is a pressure fighter such as GGG then Conor would be easily demolished without a shadow of a doubt IMO.
