Just search how many people think that he was completely undeserving of each and every one of his "gold gloves." The gold glove award is the most shady award every because its voted on by coaches and managers. And more often than not they vote based on popularity and not defensive prowess. Want proof? In 2022, Juan Soto was a gold glove finalist. JUAN FRIGGIN SOTO. He's average in the outfield at absolute best. Look up the NLCS highlights from 2022 and pay attention to him on defense. God awful. Do you really think Jeter would have won a single gold glove if he was on the Yankees? No one. Jeter wasn't even the best defensive shortstop ON the Yankees when was there. Arod played short until he became a yankee and if Jeter wasn't the golden boy in NY when the Yankees picked up arod he would have lost his position in half a heartbeat. So youre right, people do praise him, but they also think he's the most overrated defensive short in the last 50 years if not the history of the game. Go look up his career defensive runs saved stat and get back to me.
