Very enjoyable and informative videos. Like sitting with a friend sharing audio tips and experiences. I own an MC225 and MX110Z. Terry rebuilt the amp about 15 years ago. The tuner preamp works but needs a rebuild badly. I replaced the selenium rectifier soon after I got it.

I love your rebuild series. I hope you do a restoration of that beautiful MX-110. I'm sure you know there is a selenium rectifier in it. One of the first tube pieces of gear that I worked on back in the 90s was an MX-110 with a blown rectifier. We built a diode bridge on a terminal strip mounted on the selenium rectifier mounting hole. Speaking of rectifiers, Have you ever tried using the Hexfred fast-recovery rectifiers? I've heard their lack of switching spikes makes them sound a lot more like a tube rectifier. I've used the 1200V ones in some of my preamp projects. I also recall replacing the worn RCA input jacks on an MX-110 with some nice gold ones. I've seen similar chassis ground gold jacks at Parts Express.

I really enjoy any restoration videos for McIntosh gear as well as Marantz which I consider the best ever made. I would suggest editing down the audio when it's necessary to run a 1000 hz tone for more than a nano second. It is truly detracting from the video to the point it is difficult to hear anything else. But great video. Make more McIntosh videos and how about a quad Marantz ? Thank you sir.

Nice video! I performing a power supply rebuild now with a kit from CT. Im thinking of changing C4 & C15? Are they 100 MF 63 volt electrolytic and do you know a good source for them? Thanks

Hi Mark, I just love your stuff on youtube. I am a retired, and old Telecomms Enginineer Even at 68 I was too young for the likes of this amp that you are playing around with. Meaning Valves were out. And The Trasistor was in. However, I would be most greatful. If you could put up a Prog. Showing us. How to Cobble together the hardware, and software. 0f Pete Millet's HP 8903 Audio Analyser. That you are using here. jeffoldbean.

I consider playing an iPod through a McIntosh MC225 a form of rape. :0
