I thought u were dead, so glad you came back, either you do 1 video every 3 months is still niche specific content not mainstream clickbait

Love this! So glad to see a 360 walkthrough from you. Your explanations just speak to me more than some of the other channels that go over similar analysis methods.

Hey, huge fan here! Just a Finder tip: when on Finder, you can click 'View' on the main toolbar. Click on 'Show path bar', which will enable at the bottom of the Finder window a path bar. You can "right click" on it, select "copy '{{path}}' as Pathname and you can then easily paste it in any script. I feel it's a lot quicker once enabled than the 'get info' way, and at least in R you skip some annoying adjustments that are often needed with the 'get info' way. Hope this helps! Keep the videos coming, always great content! Cheers from Argentina

What aspects of python do i need to learn if i want to get into sports analytics?
@McKayJohns Жыл бұрын
You could get by just learning pandas and matplotlib for visualization. But I recommend just learning everything you can as it will help with a lot of things

Great stuff! Quick question. On the frame, Argentina only has 8 field players. I’m guessing this is because the other players were missing from the camera perspective. Is there a way to assign a player ID to each player that you plotted so we can see what players aren’t in the frame?
@McKayJohns Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's missing because of camera angels unfortunately. The last i checked they don't have a way to map the players but this could have changed since i last tried to do it

Love the tutorial, but just one thing....when trying to make the pitch, I got an error code "NameError: name 'Pitch' is not defined". How do I fix this?

Love your content! Could you recommend any projects based on football analytics for beginners?

I have a question, how do we assign the ID of each player in the 360 frames for example I want to know the name of the player for the player of position x y.

Love this! Would you be able to look at your code in the Github link? It appears to be showing an error. Top work!

@@McKayJohns thanks, learning a lot from your content. Last year I was looking for sports analysis videos on YT. At that time, I discovered your video on passing network using python.

anyone having issues cloning the repo man i have tried it 20 times it stops midway
@McKayJohns3 ай бұрын
I probably wouldn't clone the repo tbh I would just use their statsbombpy package to download and use the data. Cloning the repo is a ton of data haha
