Привет. как жизнь ? Интересуюсь паровой техникой , хотел бы создать , что нибудь но более современное. Есть у вас возможность достать чертежи такого трактора или хотябы его двигателя ? Заранее спасибо .

Surely the engine should increase in speed when notched up rather than slow down. The slide valves require adjustment.

Confusing term - 'notching up' actually means to decrease valve travel, thus reducing amount of steam admitted to cylinders. It is an economy measure much used on railway locomotives. So for a given regulator setting, notching up would result in a speed reduction.

@@petercooper2387Notching up has nothing to do with speed at all. It refers to using up the full expansion of steam as from opening a full port and wasting steam up the chimney as can be heard when a locomotive barks through the chimney. The regulator on the other hand alters speed.

I always wonder, at what point does it stop being a model? Haha

A model is static.

@@union310 That is not what defines a model. I’d wager most of them move.

@@IronBridge1781 It is in the English dictionary. Engineering in miniature refers to something that is close as possible to the original. Do you build yourself?

@@union310 I’ve always known it to called model engineering. And yes, I do.

@@IronBridge1781 Model engineering is a term Percival and Marshal coined when they made their choice for a magazine. However the arrival of LBSC and others at the time took them from models to true machines. What do you build?
