This mountain is crazy in Dirt Rally. Looks diabolical in real life, couldnt imagine doin that myself. Really takes some amazing talent to do this hill climb, not to mention some awesome engineering to have a car run this hard up a mountain

Does anybody know if the drivers can feel the BHP swindeling, while the air gets thinner? I once drove from Sealevel (Teneriffa) to almost 3000m with a small motor - it's a dramatic experience, when that thing won't propperly accelerate anymore.

Sorry but... pro drivers correct me if I’m wrong... this lap is kinda full of mistakes. Not bashing anyone but early apexes, lack of surface awareness, and early braking zones are a few things I spotted. Not a keyboard warrior, happy to back up everything I type on the tarmac! Cheers

I'd put it down to inexperience with the car. He's certainly not a newbie to the mountain. And yeah, he didn't push very hard, better to play it safe in a new car, especially one relying so heavily on downforce like this. One bad bump and it upsets the car, suddenly no grip. Not a bad run nonetheless

In the beginning yes... I think he had to learn the car as he climbed. He dipped off the track in some harsh spots and was coming out of hairpins slower than slow. Also, a few misjudgements of turn entries (resulting in sawing at the wheel). What all of our complaints boil down to is how we wished he could've reached his and the car's full potential by giving us a flawless run. What more can you ask of a 23 time champion?

I think the steering wheel choice was horrible. He had to drive with his thumbs in a hole backwards/upside down shifter paddles. That looked to me like the issue. When you're at full lock plus trying to shift up would be down and down up etc. Hung it out there a few times. I think I might be able to smash that time in that car with a stick shift and a round wheel .

Absolutely great video and thank you very much for that. I think that an automatic gear would be a great help for any driver. He would have to focus only on the wheel, accelerator and brakes. Nothing else. A computer controlled automatic gear would allow to use the engine Always in its best range for torque. No time wasted. I use for some time a car with an automatic gear. Going back to manual was embarassing. And this was not under the pressure like during a race. A computer controlled automatic gear is the future. I think.

I don't have much experience but I could see at least two places where the driver shifted way too late or way too early for the amount of rpm. a couple seconds were tacked on per the driver. Maybe he needed a couple test runs.

What do you mean? The Senna is a highly downforce optimized car with extreme capabilities on track. And thats the normal one. The Senna GTR is an absolute monster and would definitely destroy that time. As long as the driver really knows the car and its limits that is.
