Grew up in Bedlington. Moved away in 1984. Came back periodically then hardly at all from about 2010. Was back a few times 2022-23. Feels quite a sad place now, and what a change from my youth. I remember busy streets on a Friday and Saturday night with everyone going from pub to pub, and the market place always being busy. Hopefully the town can pull itself around.

I'm a Brummy, we're about to make an offer on a house in Bedlington. I'm looking to escape Birmingham, due to being an ethnic minority in my own city, in addition to budgetary constraints in the housing market. I'm hoping to join a real English town and hopefully contribute to the regeneration of Bedlington.

7 year later and the town has probably got worse.

Sorry as much as im interested in the real history of Bedlington, I cannot listen to this. The background music ruins the quality of the interviews and commentary.
