@@DrunkenGuitarGuy I've repeatedly suggested to flerfers that they organize an expedition to locate and document the ice wall. Funding shouldn't be an issue considering all the moronic celebrities that jumped on the FE wagon. They could live stream the entire thing to add some measure of credibility. Streaming everything would also generate enormous sums of money to help finance the expedition, and to invest in continuing "research" to bust the globe conspiracy once and for all. Surprisingly, every time I broach the subject I am assailed with the usual lame and predictable excuses and litany of flerfer-approved buzzwords and accusations. Then, also predictably, they sneak away to find opponents that don't pose as much of an intellectual challenge. These people are genuinely mentally ill. If you flew them into space to show them conclusively that earth is a sphere, most would still never concede that they are wrong.

@FallofftheMap Hello sir. There's a channel which has misrepresented something that you said at 7:46. You said that the sun sets, which I know you didn't mean that the sun actually sets below the horizon. Most people are aware that during the Antarctic summer, the sun doesn't set for several months. But there's a group of people (flat earthers) who don't believe 24 hours of daylight actually happens in Antarctica. Could you just clarify what you said at 7:46. Does the actually set below the horizon or does it stay above the horizon for several months? I'd also like to use a clip of this video in a future video I'm working on if that's possible. Thanks in advance.

I always wondered why mcmurdo doesn’t count as a village the way the Chilean base does. I hope one day they will develop a sustainable city in Antarctica for the scientists, something like a snow globe, but maybe it really is that cold that certain things just won’t work.

They’re working on rebuilding McMurdo to be much more efficient and self contained. The new design is pretty futuristic, but the cost of the project means it won’t be completed anytime soon. Won’t quite be what you’re describing, but it’s a big step closer.

McMurdo is hardiness zone 3a, same as much of northern Minnesota, the winter temperatures are in fact the same, but McMurdo has very little precipitation and just a handful of days each summer that barely crest above freezing, and northern Minnesota has summers that are warm and wet and winters that are a bit shorter. This is why one has dense and lush forest with big tall trees, thick soil, and arable land while the other is polar desert where only lichens, terrestrial algae, and several mosses can survive in sheltered spots.

A plausible explanation why some people at McMurdo had "attitude" with being on camera: Their work could be classified. Years ago I was enrolled in a college computer class, where one of the other students was a middle-aged woman, whom the instructor was previously acquainted with, and the subject came up about her working for the National Science Foundation at McMurdo. I was seated next to that woman, and in all following conversations I had with her throughout the quarter, she was vague about McMurdo, as her work there was classified.
