MCN, if you want to keep your KZbin channel growing keep up this good work. the sound is better, everyone's getting a lot more comfortable in front if the camera with more planning behind what they're saying. if you keep it up there is no reason you can't be the number 1 source of motorbike vids. Def the cheapest.....but has some painfully awkward and ugly styling. The fire extinguisher exhaust canister strapped to the side is the perfect cherry on time of this sh!t Sunday. Why can't they get decent looking headlight. Looks like a mini 06 gsxr600 headlight. Just doesn't fit.

The thing with rating the bikes according to their performance on a single track is it's very limiting on the indications of the bikes actual potential. But then again, such reviews are also necessary in order to have a baseline reference of what one should expect from a bike. I'd still get that Gixxer though. It seems to be a sweet package with lots of potential waiting to be unlocked.

I want to say - great video, I normally shy away from long review videos on youtube but this was really good. Great footage, great audio, and thought-out chat. Really well done, I hope this is a sign of things to come on MCN's youtube channel. My opinion is that a GSXR with an aftermarket slip-on or even better a full system would be transformed and give the other bikes a better contest and still very much in the ballpark on price.

MrWillemdr around 420lbs., but I believe that is the SP2 model bcuz of the forged wheels it comes with

That is the SP model in the video. The SP2 is for race teams only and not available for public sale. It weighs as much as the standard blade at 195 kilos.

Lifted_Above : to me that really doesn't matter. For me it's about the balance and the suspension of the bike. Even the electronics still weren't necessary if it were up to me. As always, Honda go for durability figures, not horsepower figures. Indeed a little bit more top end was necessary, but they've adressed that now.

0-60, the old Blade was already doing 2.6 seconds. This might be a tad quicker with the lower weight and power bump. N ice work guys!All rivals on track but it was sad that the weather on the road could not let you test and discover how good these bikes are.Meanwhile I have some queries.You said R1m was a little nervous opening the gas in low speed corners but the traction control of yamaha has almost unlimited combinations to play with.Another one is Suzuki said that has not good brakes at all but on the final board the result of braking has little difference than other bikes.Maybe you mean the initial feeling during braking.The Blade as you described is a very good all around bike but neither good on track nor road because it is third fast on track.Moreover the total less mass of the bike and its triangle are making it more appropriate for track than easy riding with much less protection from the wind.Sorry for my english but I think are so close that making the final rank very difficult indeed!Keep on the good work!

I believe the CBR was voted the fast not because horsepower but because it can be pushed easier,better and more simple due to its low weight. Like riding a Fz1 compared to a 750 except your still a 1000 you just have more control to put it where you want,ease of use. I see how that could make it better for road & track. I would take the boring reliable Honda and commute with it. The GSXR looks tempting. Speed isn't everything look at the Mazda Miata. Decide are you a corner guy,straight line guy or do you like vehicle dynamics? Once you decide that choose your supersport

As an owner of a vintage 1976 BMW R90/6, I have an affinity for Beemers. My KZbin account icon shows a pic of my bike. Due to my love of Beemers in general, were I to plunk down the ducats for one of these apex bikes, it would be the S1000RR. I know in this field of bikes that a myriad of individual preferences come into play. I've ridden super bikes from just about every manufacturer out there and the quality of German engineering and "just has to be perfect" design of BMW wins me over. Would I love a 1299cc Ducati Superleggera? DUH!!! But for all around use, day in and day out, for these bikes...I'd go with the BMW S1000RR. I just love the German attention to craftsmanship and engineering excellence. How could anyone be disappointed owning an S1000RR????

With the euro4 gubbins stripped out and Michael Dunlop on a gixxer and John McGuinness on a blade, this years IOM TT (and so too the BSB series) will be another decent gauge between the newer bikes.

Interesting that. Having ridden the new blade (about 200 miles in a day to run in) and owning the 2009 model, I've got to say they are very similar. The frame is the same, swing arm, forks, brakes... it is noticeably lighter and more powerful. It's always had a good chassis. End of the day if you can afford any of these bikes, you're a jammy git and you should get whichever one suits you.

Honda and Aprilia has really nice and graspy character of a sound for a stock Euro4 exhaust. Interestingly Honda has best top speed while has least amount of power. Nice video all in all. Although makes me wonder if road part was done in pretty weather in Spain/France/Italy, I think some of the bikes would have gotten different opinions. It looked miserable with the rain and mud and the easiest and comfiest bikes will get extra noted there.

So to paraphrase, the reason the honda won, was because *1. It was easy to ride/ride fast. 2. It was light/agile 3. It feels more stable in rain/poor conditions*

I wish Suzuki would do a v2 or v4 and that Yamaha would redesign an omega chassis with a radd front and single sided rear crossplane 20v il4 with a supercharger and also Medicare 4 all in America along with free college and no more hungry or homeless in the streets. Just once I'd like to see these comparative same-day dyno tests with aftermarket exhausts. We've all heard about how some bikes wake up much more than others when the exhaust is changed, and 95% percent of the time aside from a fender eliminator that's the first thing riders change (especially with all these new fugly exhausts...) so let's see some proof of it for once! I would think the exhaust companies would be happy to lend them to MCN for some free advertising...

so the drop in ducati's and bmw bhp from last year to this year would that have come from the euro 4 emissions? last year both machines had 196bhp on this test and with ducati nothing changed but upgraded electronic aids and not sure with the bmw
