Very good review. I don't make comments very often, but feel your videos are extremely well organized and informative. Your delivery seems unbiased by offering both pros and cons without a sense of pushing an agenda. Finally, you do your viewers a service by not overly harping on price. Often reviewers start with the negatives of price and end with the same points often reminding you along the way. Most of us watching know the price and many know the competition. Which powerbank do you suggest? I found one (anker powercore+ 26.800 mAh PD USB-C compatible), but it's expensive and I would be very disappointed if it didn't work. Also, for how many hours would it be able to play before running out of power? Do you have any battery saving tips? Please answer it would save a lot of time and money

She is an artist and I was wondering if it would be suitable for tracing digital art on a physical canvas during daylight in her studio, and, he is very capable of this. If you had the lights dimmed or better still completely off then you should be ok. Complete darkness is always best if possible! However if you don’t need the apps and wish to save some pennies do check out my review for the Artlii Energon 2 projector. For the price it is fantastic!

Excellent review. Thank you and hope you can help withy question. I am not sure about whether to buy the M2 or M2e. Is 1200 lumens of the (M2) vs 1000 lumens of the M2e a major difference? My understanding is that the M2e is a newer model of the M series but I am not sure is 200 lumens less compared to the M2 will make a big difference in terms of colors and overall experience. I'm inclined to get the M2 for the lumens but not sure if the overall quality of the new M2e would be a better choice. Any feedback or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Hi there, thanks for your comment and apologies about the late reply! So when it comes to projectors then it really comes down what you intend to use it for. Example: Do you want it portable? Is fan noise going to be an issue if you only have a small space. Do you want it wifi compatible? Do you plan to use it outside? Are you going to use it with games consoles/PC/Laptop? My personal favourite (apart from the Viewsonic and in terms of a good price for the quality etc) is the review ive just released which is the Artlii Energon 2. Its nice and bright, provides 1080p picture quality, has great connections (including casting your phone), the fan noise is ok, but the down side is that its quite big so you couldn't really say it was portable and it doesn't provide dolby sound, only stereo. I also liked the Apeman M4. Now that is portable (its micro) and has a fairly bright display. However its not 1080p (still a VERY good picture quality though) you can only connect things via HDMI (not usb etc) and the sound isnt exactly the loudest. If you want a budget, budget range one then I quite liked the Blitzwolf one i reviewed. Its very cheap but does the job. Not that bright so only dark rooms would be suitable for it, you can connect most things but not cast your phone and its only 720p as well. But for the price you cant complain! Hope that was of some use! Just to confirm btw if you do connect your phone you cant cast pay per view apps like netflix, Sky Sports etc!

MCPHONEY Does the Artlii energon 2 have Bluetooth version 5.0? Will I have any problems pairing with any Bluetooth speaker? Will there be any lag/Lip sync problems? Lastly, which is best? Artlii energon 2 vs Vamvo L6200? These models look exactly the same and I’m really stuck choosing between these 2 models! Built in Wifi and Bluetooth is really appealing to me, but if the Bluetooth in the Artlii is not very reliable and laggy then I would rather go for the vamvo and buy a decent Bluetooth transmitter. Hope you understand what I mean. Are they made by the same company as these models look so similar? Thanks for any help!

Urgent answer needed!!!!!!! Can you use any brand Wi-Fi/Bluetooth dongle with this projector. I've misplaced mine and ordered a TP Link one but not sure whether it will work? Also finding it hard to source spare parts in the UK

Being brutally honest…I don’t know. Can’t see why not though because it is just a wi-do dongle. So it should technically work fine! As for spare parts I take you have spoken to Viewsonic direct? Hopefully they can source them for you. Sorry I couldn’t give a more definitive answer!

Yes I have been onto Viewsonic UK all day. The US Viewsonic parts website sells it but only ships to US/Canada. I even opened a US shipper account to have stuff sent to and shipped over but the billing address on my credit card needs to be US/Canada as well lol

It looks a really great projector for the specs. I’m just wondering if it can be powered over usb-c like, for example, when connected to a Macbook Pro for delivering both Video and Power. Anyone buy this projector after owning a decent Full HD DLP projector or even coming from an LCD projector? I have a super old Optoma HD20 (uses the 0.67 DMD chip) that worked since 2006 with zero maintenance throughout and reasonably heavy use (still technically works but the lamp obviously is far past it's last legs). Any advice for people using this Viewsonic M2 after using an Optoma/Epson/BenQ budget projector (below 1000$) - That scene he showed from Toy Story seemed a little greener than I remember. Are there many color differences for the better or worse? - How would this compare to the Optoma HD146x or Epson HC2250 or TW5700? - Is the size of the screen projection smaller? - Any negatives in comparison to a DLP / LCD projector? Please help! Going crazy seeing all these reviews

Good questions I'm wondering the same, my optoma hd26 just died. That was about ten years old maybe less. A friend has this and he says it's amazing, but the colours do seem a bit hypo. I guess they can be adjusted a bit. If you figured out where this sits compared to a bigger older projector, do let me know! Thanks

I bought this after watching this and other reviews of the M2, it's amazing!!, However there was a few issues for me, I cannot get anything to work except HDMI connection, it wont read from the Micro SD card, or any usb connected drive, it briefly mirrors my iPhone screen but can't keep doing that for more than 30 seconds, i tried both updating the firmware and going back to factory settings, did you have the same issues? if so did you find a solution? Thanks!

Hi John, gutted to hear about the issues! So just to confirm what happens when I connect inputs to my M2. So when I connect a USB stick, a symbol appears in the top right hand corner of the screen showing that it has been detected and I can either go to “file management” on the projectors main user interface screen to select a file to view or press the top right hand button on the remote which brings up a selection of inputs to choose from on the bottom of the screen with green dots next to the detected options. Select the applicable input and go from there. Do you get those options? As for phone connectivity, it worked fine for me, but I didn’t test it for long. From my experiences however android devices seem to work far better than iOS devices with this feature. Not sure why though. However I’ve just updated my iphone to IOS14 and can’t get it to connect to the projector at all now. Even on the projector I’m currently reviewing.

Yeah perhaps its an ios issue, the USB stick I could go to file management but it would never load the actual files, it would be stuck at showinf the "local drive" folders. Got a proper USB C or thunderbolt cable and its running great connected to my ipad though, so overall I'm happy with it! I think they'll get it working better wifi when there's new firmware.

Again can I just confirm when you go to select something from a USB, ithe projector automatically selects "Local Folders" so you have to press the return key on the remote to almost "de-select it" and then scroll down to the USB option. (if it is detected that is.) Another update btw, my ios wont screen mirror to any projector anymore. But androids phones still do. I was playing around with the Artlii Energon 2 last night and my iphone would recognise the projector but not connect to it. Odd one! My friends phone (android) was playing everything faultlessly! If however you are having multiple issues with the Viewsonic M2, I would ask for a replacement considering the price. I still think its an awesome projector though! Pps. My next review/video is the Viewsonic M1 Mini Plus and Im giving one away....

@@RevolutionCybernetic I have this projector and they released a firmware update a week after this video was uploaded, probably because so many people asked the same question. The firmware update is .57 and it allows you to adjust the level of interpolation, and more importantly, turn it off! This makes an already great projector into one of the best on the market in my opinion.

Hi there, personally I really like the sound that the M2 provides. Compared to other projectors Ive tried and tested you can definitely hear the quality the Harmon Kardon speakers provide. Hope that helps!

Hi there, there is a way I’m sure from what I remember, when a video is playing if you press either the centre button on the remote or the button with the lines on it, (can’t remember which one I’m sorry) a menu pops up to adjust colour, brightness etc! Let me know how you get on! 👌

It’s not a 4K projector, and you do lose detail (obviously, since it is not outputting in 4K - I have no idea what this guy is on about when he says that). It is merely able to playback the file (and do so convincingly and smoothly without stutter): it doesn’t mean you’re seeing a 4K image.

The Viewsonic M2 is better for image quality. Plus has a lot more options/modes to play around with for your own personal picture preferences. If you wanted a serious home cinema set up then this is recommended! It screams premium! The Artlii Energon 2 is what you would class as a budget - mid range projector - but still awesome for the price! Hope that helps!

Hi there, always appreciate the feedback! Happy to answer any questions you have as well! Personally I still stand by my review and think this is a fantastic projector. The main problem however is that KZbin block any copyrighted material (most film clips) which makes it difficult to show the true quality of the picture, so the 10-20 times better quote, which I agree doesn’t sound very technical at all, but by this I mean even with the 4K camera that is used to film it...it still doesn’t give the best clarity compared to how the projection looks in real life. But again, appreciate your comments and if you have any specific questions feel free to ask away! 👌 Happy to help! Ps. A lot of other reviews marked the projector down because of the “motion smoothness” or “soap opera” effect that could not be altered/switched off. But Viewsonic obviously listened to this and released a firmware update to give viewers an option to enable and disable it.

Hi there, so "supports 4k" basically means you can play a 4k video signal. But with this projector it will downscale it to its native resolution of HD. It is HDCP2.2 compliant though which is required to play 4K content. Hope that makes sense!

Hmm is that an infrared sensor on the back? and likely not a fluke that you completely jumped over informing that when going thru the back 1:50 what a fail, can only imagine the headache that would be in actual use... most others are using BT BLE RF, so you don't need direct line of contact. (yep, many users are criticizing the inconsistency of the remote) The way you have to put superlatives on every little thing' is unreal - like it's the second coming of christ.. holy f it's tacky and is so fast gets a vibe of dishonesty.. I actually needed to check where you are from and where they roll this hard for freebies and have no integrity of character... sure old Danelaw or in modern tongue England. and you lying so hard with your lumens.. LED LUmens what is that?? another spec only intended to consume and deceive consumers and no sorry bud.. its the M2e that is labeled with Viewsonic's weirdly "LED Lumens 3:29 but let's compare it to ANSI lumens.. the LED 1200 Lumens seems to be 500 ANSI lumens, info like that you really should be informing your viewers as it should be your viewer's interests that should take the center and not help Asian vendors to deceive your viewers with all these marketing terms of LED lumens that people often will conclude as ANSI lumens. linking is prohibited, so I can't link to the official ANSI specs, though many UK retailers are knowing they can do this crap and will inform the official ANSI specs.. check jp-uk the M2 is 500 ANSI and 400 ANSI lumens for the m2e.

ViewSonic makes ok Projectors, but their operating OS systems are terrible. !!!!!So basic, you have to put a firestick in the back of their projectors. (It's hell trying to get their basic operating systems to play KZbin and lots more basic apps that should be pre-loaded, but they're not !!!!!.) OK, this is solved by putting an Amazon fire stick in the back of the Viewsonic m2 projector. Then we come to the sound, OMG. I have heard better/louder sound on my mobile phone, there is no Base at all even with the sound adjusted to its maximum base !!!!! They say Harmon Kardon speakers are built-in. HAHAHA, how disappointed you will be. Then the Keystone correction has a massive bright border shadow !!!!! that is so distracting !!!!! (that's when the keystone works properly). good points !!!! good picture in a dark room/ and the projector looks good and runs quiet. (would I buy it again !!!! no way there are much better projectors out there for the same amount of money).
