Looks like the perfect execution of an outstanding idea. Jay is to be commended for having the foresight and determination to make this product happen. With the proliferation of police agencies transitioning to the BMW R1200/1250 RTP, Jay might consider expanding his product line.

I ordered a set in chrome when I bought my 2021 Ultra Limited. It took months to finally receive them as I ordered them right after Jerry Palodino had showcased them on his channel. Jay had a huge backlog of orders and was doing everything in his power to get them delivered. Anyway I emailed him after a couple of months, and not only did he respond, he called me and we had a good conversation. No business owner had ever done that before (or since). Great product, great customer service.

Kevin is right - Jay is the nicest guy in the motorcycle world! After I bought a 2022 Road King Special, I discovered online training for low speed maneuvers. Before trying any exercises, I called Jay and got a set-he spent an hour talking to me on the phone that night! What a terrific guy! I’ve only dropped my bike about 25 times,😂 but ZERO damage! Not a scratch to the bike. Now I can easily do 18-foot U-turns. I plan to go to Texas to train with Jay before too long. His low-speed training videos are is good as you can find anywhere. He shows you how to master clutch control without undue wear on your clutch plates or rear brake. Also, a big plug to Ride Like A Pro (I’m doing the RLAP course in two weeks or so) and Motojitsu. Along with this terrific channel, those are my four go-to video sources for low-speed riding skills.

Been there done that. I put them on my bike about a year ago. Literally had them for a week, went for a group ride. While pulling in next to another rider, he was quick to lean his bike on the stand and I turned my bars at a slow speed reacting to this as I wasn’t expecting it. Down my bike went. A could scuffs on the new drop guards. But zero damage to the bike. I had used Jerry Palladino’s code for a discount. Glad I have them and they do disappear into the crash bars once installed. If your not looking close you don’t really see them.

Yes, my K1200LT has some protection from the factory, but I am sure it would be wholly inadequate in a real drop. Just tipping the bike over to practice picking it up left marks in the factory rubber crash guards.

I took a training course from Tampa PD. For the low-speed portion, they recommended taking the bags off and zip tie the provided firehose segments to the gurad bars. Good adivce. I dropped my Ultra during the course. I've seen the Drop Guards on many bikes and plan to order a set. Practicing your slow-speed skills is important.

Having run fleet for a state motorcycle unit these are the best. We had tried the Pro Guards and shaft collars - Jay's product is the best. I have them on my 21 Road Glide yet convincing state finance folks the $$ was a good investment is still a struggle. Then again, they don't ride. W/o question these are worth the costs as nothing protects better or is truly indestructible.

My preference is to learn on rental bikes when possible. Not as precisely valuable as on your primary ride, but you still learn the techniques and can fine tune skills on your own bike later with much less chance of damage once you have obtained the basic skills.
@LTVoyager

They look nice new, but it appears they will look pretty ugly after being scratched in a fall. It would be nice to have something sacrificial like Delrin that would be quickly added when training and then removed for normal riding to get a better look. Then again, I haven’t checked the price yet and maybe these are cheap enough to just replace when dropped.

Thanks Kevin, greetings from the Northeast. I sure wish they had the drop guards for my 2000 Valkyrie Interstate and 94 Goldwing. I sure hope Jay decides to consider making them for other bikes. By the way I have a question. I was at the local Honda dealer today getting the State Inspections done on my bikes and they had one of the new 2023 Goldwing DCTs. I was wondering, If you were riding a Goldwing DCT with ABS and someone else was riding a Goldwing (with a clutch) with ABS, which bike would stop sooner during emergency braking? Considering both riders used the proper braking techniques. Or how would the DCT transmission affect braking compared to a non-DCT bike? Just wondering. Might be a good topic for one of your videos. Take care and keep the great videos coming. 🤠

I ordered the drop guards for my 2006 HD road King. The guards work well on my bars, but the primary cover isn't the right bolt pattern. I have sent a few emails with zero response. There is no system in place to correct mistakes orders. So if you do order I hope your pieces fit proper. It really is too bad that there is no product support.

Luckily for me, I’m not worried at all about picking up my motorcycle because it only weighs 240 pounds but of course I definitely wouldn’t want to drop it or damage it but I don’t see crash bars as an option yet but I would still definitely practice slow speed maneuversbecause if I was going at slow speed, I figure I could probably just put my feet down and stop the motorcycle from tipping over. I’ve done it before and it’s not that hard to stop it from falling over so that part at least is good.
