To all of you being rude about the weight on that horse, you should be ashamed! That horse was therapy for her. She lost someone extremely close to her and Jellybean helped her get through it. That horse adores her. They are both very lucky to have each other.
@SaltySouthTexan7 ай бұрын
As a quarter horse trainer, there are LIMITS to what amount of weight is humane to that animal. You’ve got a saddle and blanket, already close to 40-50 pounds. Then you put a morbidly obese human on their back, that’s hard on an animals spine, his hocks, fetlocks and hooves. It’s not being rude, it’s being moral, and sane about the animal. I do not allow anyone over 230 pounds on any of my horses and they can easily take it and work for a while, but 230+50 saddle and tack you’re at 280 pounds. How you like it if strapped 70 pounds on you and said go work all day??? Everyone so sensitive these days instead of being a realist! That horse will have spinal issues.

For anyone tempted to comment on the rider's weight---Shelby and her family have been to hell and back in the last year. She loves her horses, is a very experienced horsewoman, and she would never jeopardize their health. Don't assume you know her weight from looking at a picture, and realize that commenting on it does nothing but spread hate in response to someone helping others.
