For me, the single most terrifying scene in all of the MCU so far, was this exchange between Fisk and Murdock in the prison. Murdock shows up at the gate, and I thought "Oh crap. He's not going to do this, is he?" Then I thought, "How in the world is he going to get out of this alive?" ESPECIALLY when he threatened Fisk's future with Vanessa. Chills were literally running up and down my back. That is some fine storytelling, folks.

If you think about it, Matt could have beat the shit out of Kingpin in prison. But he couldn't because then Kingpin would know what Matt is capable of which is why Matt let out that restrained weak punch. Despite that weak ass punch though, it looks like Kingpin still managed to make something out of it.

cfsvillanueva Matt can stomp on Fisk because of his skills and agility. But if it comes down to a strength only tussle, there's no way Matt wins that.

But if Matt shows Fisk what he CAN do, he exposes himself as Daredevil. So Matt sucked up Fisk's assault so as not to expose his alter ego. That's my interpretation of that scene.
