The code you've written is also possible to create a library so you can import into another program

I purchased a BB Black and was disappointed that all the sample code is written in JavaScript, Python, and something called "BoneScript" (I wanted C++). So I downloaded TI's "Code Composer" and I plan to use the unpopulated JTAG connector, which in theory, should program the BB's Sitara CPU just as it works on any other one. Since most of the ports/features are embedded in the CPU, mapping should also be the same.

You wrote the ser.write... commands with a sleep command after each ser.write. Why not just write the ser.write commands without the sleep commands. And writing the sleep command after the last ser.write?

I like these lessons. I am fairly new to this (read: very new). Hoping to get my Raspberry Pi in tomorrow to start getting nerdy ;-) (Not a beaglebone, but the idea is quite the same, I think) Just wondering... for testing purposes, can I just attach an external GPS antenna to get a fix, when I am coding and trying stuff out? If that is so, that might have been a handy thing to have used for these lessons. :-) But who am I to talk. I am very new to this kind of stuff :-)
