McWill, Majesco or Sega: What's the best way to play Game Gear?

I just bought a McWilled GG and have another that was recapped. I must say the new screen is far better than I could have imagined. Plus I didn't know about the different screen modes, that you for that info!

I have had all of them and my favorite way to play is actually option 4: VGA out >> VGA to RCA converter >> CRT. Game Gear games look so good on a CRT! It is a pain in the ass to play though with the wires coming out and all lol.

Hey Justin, don't blow into those cartridges! Use a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol if you want to clean up the connectors on the inside of the cartidges/consoles.

I loved your video! I have a game gear too. Honestly, Sega's announcement about the game gear micro has me a little disappointed in Sega. 😥 It would have been awesome if maybe the game gear micro was smart phone sized at least? Anyway, I love Shining Force on my game gear and I want to get the mcwill mod installed now! I'm also a musician and working on new music too lol. Where can I check out your music? Thanks!

I tried the GG Shinobi in emulation on a DS, and I could see that the display area went beyond what the GG screen showed. It was like the game was running in MS mode but with the GG colours, with the action taking place in the middle. Can you see that hidden area with the McWill screen in 1:1 mode?

The mcwill mod can do brightness control. It's just 2 extra wires that need soldering in. I can do it for the cost of postage both ways and say £5 for the time it would take. If you wanted to make it more worth your time I could also install the usb-c replacement power board at cost.

Just picked up a re-capped Majesco Game Gear. Definitely my favourite way to play.

Yeah, my Majesco one needs recapping soon I expect. About £40 for the service seems pretty good, though mine's developed a sort of ring behind the screen. Maybe some glue reacting with the LCD? It was fine last time it was out. Ah well, I'm getting the Analog Pocket in the next batch (Q4) so that'll probably be the best way to play. We shall see :)

That seems like a pretty reasonable cost to re-cap. I haven’t quite worked up the courage to try and re-cap anything on my own. I’m in the 2023 group for the pocket. Can’t wait for that one.

Hi! I have two GG Mcwills and both don't play Sega Master systems well. One only displays in a black and white distorted screen and the second one looks like an amplified resolution. Any idea why this is happening?

Crikey that doesn't sound good. Can you take it back to where you got them converted? Sounds like something's properly wrong. My only suggestion would be to try using a different make of Master System converter. Best of luck, Alfonso.

Try Cutthroat Island, Missile Defence (in the Arcade Classics 3 in 1) and Marble Madness. I don’t understand either but a McWill on a Large screen is better than the mini. Get the Everdrive I fit all 300 in a mini SD card.

Hi, i want to ask you about invisalign ,1- how long Do you have to wear retainer after invisalign full treatment ? 2- is it fine to take them out 3 times a day for eating ? Thank you

No prob :) Answers are: 1: For as long as you want your teeth to stay straight (so ‘forever’ probably) and 2: Yes. 40 minutes per meal then brush and clean teeth and trays, then put the trays back in.
