Try shooting it in the suppressed setting without a suppressor. On 9 hole review that’s what Henry did and it seemed to help a fair bit with recoil.

Highly suggest an m4-72 brake. I run one on my 13" and it kicks like 5.56 if not even less. Aggressive brakes really benefit from shorter barrels, and as long as you shoot outdoors, concussion won't be an issue.
