It's clearly touched Li's racket. If you say: "Why make such a fuss when you're leading far far away?" I'll say: "Dude, imagine it's 29-29 at the deciding game and it's happening...the umpire said it's out?" Every point is really worth the effort, very important for all players whether they're leading or not. A lesson for any umpires ... I know it's not an easy job but at least they should be more focus.

How very right you are. It's not about how many leads you have or if you are winning. It's about the right way of doing the job of umpiring. These players give their blood ,sweat and tears to win every single game and they work hard for it. I think you have to speak up when someone has done injustice on you. Kevin just wanted to point that. In this case, one of the Chinese players was dishonest. It was not cheating by any rule / regulation in the game but it was not a respectable act. With the score being that far away he could have told the referee that his racket touched the shuttle and be respected but he decided to play some mind games (and still lost).

After the match Li Junhui said that he didn't know if the shuttle hit his racket or not. That's totally bullshit, the shuttle moved so fast but he will felt the shuttle hit his racket. This is very cool. I like the attitude of Kevin / Gideon in contrary to other opinions who think you should be super polite on court. Things change and we should not be afraid of it. Another example, the Olympic champion Carolina Marin also shows different attitudes we never see before; we can also see the WS players start to be more expressive on court with their scream. I actually see Kevin / Gideon just as cool as other sportsman in other sports. Listen to the spectators! Look at their celebration in every point. It is a game full of tense and very tiring. Sportsmen also deserve to express their emotion on court and let their pain release. Now, that's a kind of sport that I want to watch. Hope badminton will be more popular; because it is a beautiful sport that can be played by everybody, including para-athletes!

Can some one please enlighten me why everbody is complaining about the behaviour of the indonesian team? I am from europe ( germany ) and find it really difficult to understand what the problem is. Maybe something cultural? In an earlier game the danish coach told his players they should no clench their fists towards the chinese players, is this the same story? Just for my curiosity please some tell whats the point. Besides that I really dig the way Gideon and Sukamuljo play. They are incredibly fast and powerfull, it is a real pleasure to watch. Their coach even said something that Kevin wouldn't be like that if his opponents didn't do it first. You can see from Dubai SSF Final 2017, it went well without any controversy from both pairs. nothing is bad from Kevin's attitude because Liu/Zhang played well and didn't do any bad gesture to Indonesian pair. It looks Kevin and Yuchen maybe have problem between them in the past as i've seen in some articles #imo hahahah

Gideon and Sukamuljo using "trash talk" to other teams. In Badminton, this kind of attitude is undesirable. I'am a sport guy, so for me "trash talk" is just a thing that I used to intimidate my opponent. It's really just a behaviour that show up in the game.

Fast, strong smash, strong defence, like giant tree who have quick moving branches with thorn. You need something special to beat them. As for the fans, five stars to them. There is prior history between these two pairs already. I saw Kevin doing the same antics several matches prior. I've not seen another badminton player not want to shake hands w/ any other players except for Kevin. Personally, I don't really care about these antics. The other players still need to focus on the game, but the antics are quite an unnecessary component to his game. He has enough skill to be one of the best players in the world. Stop complaining....The Indonesian pair head to head record with the Chinese pair is 6-1!, they won the last 6 meetings! Stare down and a bit of drama are part of the game, especially at this level and intensity. You must be able to withstand the pressure from the home crowd and your opponent's little drama. The Chinese pair didn't get effected by Kevin, they were still very calm. Anyone who says Kevin this and Kevin that probably don't have the Chinese's pair nerve of steel, and will lose their concentration and ruin their own games. At this level of competition, everyone can beat each other when they can find their momentum. Fortunately, the Indonesians found the way to counter the Chinese pair attacking prowess by forcing them to play drive and defend. Stop being sore losers by blaming how wild the Indonesian crowd was, everywhere is the same no matter if you play in Malaysia, China or any other countries. In Malaysia open 2018, Indonesian MD was in the final against the Malaysian MD, the crowd was as crazy as last night game too. This is international badminton tournament, not a chess tournament. Speaking about the services, BWF calibre service judge was there if she didn't call the faults then there was no service faults. Put yourself in their lower position and try to judge the servicing height. Ain't as easy as watching it from your computer screen. Moreover, watch how other players serve. They also "play" with their serves. They can raise just before they hit the birdie or they can push forward to cover the higher angle from the judge. It was a good match of skills and nerve, the Chinese pair was really good and could win it, but they couldn't find the same intensity they had in the first set. Go play badminton and enjoy it.
