Conducive talk! I would like to add, Pre-med students come from different backgrounds. So if student thinks that he or she needs guidance about MDCAT prep then they should join academy if they can afford. Further more, these academies teach you tools and mnemonics, about solving numericals without use of calculators (which saves your time during MDCAT) and all that stuff which helps a lot in gaining better marks. When students are surrounded in learning environment it gets easier for them to go in a straight direction without distractions, also they can grasp concept much quicker with coaching as it acts as a warm-up. Though no doubt at the end of day, you have to study by yourself but joining these series would help you a lot. And all those test series improves you a lot, because it works on the concepts of space repetition,active recall and quick revision. Also making short notes and flow charts during lecture (also called short listing) is quite helpful in quick revision when exam is near.
