In this video I build a tabletop riparium / aquarium for my endler guppy fry. I've been experimenting with emersed plants recently and had good success so thought I would continue on with trying out different plants and seeing what does and doesn't work. MD, I would very much like to see how the tanks progressed through the months from when they were first set up to 2 months afterwards and then now Just a small clip with a few of the best tanks,even though all the tanks are mad and would be very difficult to decide which ones are the best ones hahaha I don’t usually comment but it’s insane the way your channel has grown, from the first small shed to now practically having a full house for your fish hahaha Keep up the great work!
@sunmoon-842 жыл бұрын
I thought about the longevity of the tanks, but then I thought that this style of aquarium design doesn't require the tank to run for ever. It's the excitement of the new build, trying out new ideas and seeing how they turn out. The materials are all re-used when the tanks get taken down, so nothing is wasted. I don't think these tanks need to, or are intended to last for ever. That's what I like about these builds.

@jobkaashoek4 жыл бұрын
If by guppies you mean reticulated (or fancy) guppies, you're right. They can hybridise and produce fertile offspring because their genomes are strikingly similar, meaning that they separated from each other relatively recently. Not all livebearers can hybridise and produce fertile offspring. Only species that are extremely closely related are capable of that. Most endlers sold in the pet store have some fancy guppy blood in them, and many fancy guppies, for example Panda guppies have endler blood in them. I hope I was clear in my elaboration on this topic and that you've learnt something from it!

Lovely, calming video; I just came home from a hard day's hike in the desert foothills out here in Arizona, so this was the perfect thing to watch. I have a 20-gallon tank I'm setting up (expanding a little 11" cube into bigger surroundings) and this gave me all sorts of ideas about substrates... I've been tempted to try Endlers; my guppies are mostly Platinums and Elephant Ears, but those are really pretty! Thanks for a beautiful video at the end of a good day.
@skychiefphilipp51254 жыл бұрын
That palm is a Dypsis lutescens, native to Madagascar. They need a slightly humid substrate. But I'm pretty sure right in the water the roots will rot and it'll die off. But I ❤️ your experimental style where everybody can learn from. Thanx SO much !!! And btw: You're firing out so many videos, have to take care of all the tanks, which are really nice, all the cutting work... But I'm wondering how you can manage all of it. Are you really sleeping somewhen? Hope you take care of yourself enough! ..And your family! 😉 In the former version I was mistaken, native to the northern mountains of Mexico are the Chamaedoreae species, I did correct it.

MD, I really like your videos and to the point I'm ready to redo some of my tanks with live plants and get the more natural look to them. I am curious about the wire you used to hold the plants. Thank you and love the content you put out. I did subscribe and looking forward to seeing more!!

Your neons would prefer 22 degrees/your room temperature, it’s cardinals that like it warm. Also, I could be wrong, but I don’t think your areca palm will thrive with its roots in water. If you like that shape try another bog plant like a dracanae/dragon tree. Nice tank as always.

If you create a wall of rocks at the background near those hanging plants, the roots of those plants will start to take over that rock wall and they will go underneath those gaps between and it will look kinda natural. Hang some which are actually trees instead of ferns. Cause after some days those roots will start to get woody and broader. Actually you should do this thing in a bigger tank.
