That's my fish store! If you enjoy aquascaping, having a shop like ADG near you is a blessing. It's a high end shop and it's the best in Texas, maybe in the whole U.S. Their selection of hardscape is just magnificent. And the fish are healthy and well cared for. ADG is a gem of the hobby.

Great video, great tanks. Beautiful designs. I just don't like the positive way you speak about torture breeding of gold fish. A fish who needs constant medication through out his whole life is not a thing which should be admired (not even speaking of the side effects the medication has on the fish).

Great gallery! One question that inevitably comes to my mind seeing these open tanks with such high water level: Do they ever experience fish jumping? It looks great filled right up, but when I do this, it greatly increases the risk of fish loss, even though I only keep nano fish! Have you asked them?

All but one of ours are open top. I have not had fish jumping, but some species of fish absolutely do jump. The one we have a glass top on is the rainbow fish tank, because ours attack their food. Water goes everywhere. 😑 The biggest thing is that the water evaporates faster with no lid. If you want a lid, you can get them for a rimless style tank. It’s just a specialized clip that you use to hold the top.

What an epic store this is! The crazy part about it is we live 30 minutes away and I was acquainted with Jeff through other endeavors. Little did we know of this side! Super beautiful aquariums. I mean the designs are 10/10. Do you never have troubles with open aquariums though? Fish jumping out. Same with shrimps and snails? And dirt/dust from outside entering your tank ?

It’s a beautiful store and they have a GREAT hardscape selection (massive collection) and healthy plant selection, but so many of the fish were sick or dead in the stock tanks. It was really surprising. Display tanks healthy and gorgeous.. stock fish for sale was bad (spring/summer of 2023). I wouldn’t buy fish from them. It was jarring to see how many fish were dead, floating on their sides, or laid on the bottom. When we told the associates they started scooping out the fish, but HOW did the dead fish surprise them?? There were so many dead fish and in nearly every single tank. It didn’t make sense.

I am new to your channel and I am amazed with these beautiful aquariums. I'm hoping you can answer these questions for me. Having two pets and one of them a cat. How do you keep debris from the air, cat hair, dog hair, dust, out of the tank? My cat sheds 2/4/7 and no matter how much I vacuum there is still hair that gets into surfaces. Also, what about the lights? Living in Canada, would this be necessary? I do hope you can answer my questions because I am very interested in getting an aquarium like this. Looking at these tanks, I am pressed to ask one question. All these tanks are filled almost to the brim. There is no lid. Some of these tanks have the same populations I have had previously. So my question is - What "prevents" the fish from jumping ? Every attempt I have made has left me with "cat food" on the floor and a reduced population in the aquarium. Hence, given the cost of livestock, I have reverted to lids.

Like the tanks and the video a lot. The only thing I cannot buy into are the gold fish. Or rather that type of gold fish. I am fine with the ones that have a "natural" body form. But those special types remind me of some dog or cat races that are bred to a point they are not healthy anymore. But that's just my opinion. :)
