they lost a game by 29 to them....and 17...and in the playoffs they lost a game to the warriors by 18 and then lost game 6 by 25 and game 4 by 4 so in 5 games in oakland that season the mavericks lost by a total of 93 points and in 4 of them by a total of 89 points which for a 67 win team is pretty sad...they lost 2 other games to the warriors by 3 and 12 points so they got outscored in those 7 losses to the warriors by 108 points while they only lost by a total of 153 in their other 12 losses all year long @@javianjohnson8746

Celtics Fan Since August 23, 2017 KySexual #11 Yeah. First 10 games of the season made it seem like we were going to battle for the playoffs, especially after that magnificent match against Golden State. However, because of injuries and coaching issue, our season has basically been thrown out ...
@JoshuaFrick3
@JoshuaFrick3 6 жыл бұрын
You should be happy that your organization is smart enough to tank & tank damn good too. The Grizzlies were 3.5 games out of the worst record back in January. Then they shut Conley Jr down for the year & are on a 17 game losing streak. They're the favorite to land the #1 pick and have their choice of multiple franchise-altering players. When DeAndre Ayton, Luka Doncic or Jaren Jackson Jr are hoisting the Larry O'Brien trophy for Memphis, you'll forget all about them tanking & all about a silly playoff series with the Spurs. Trust me. That's how I felt when my Mavs won in 2011. I barely remember 2006 now (aside from the fact that David Stern handed the championship to D Wade on the free throw line that year. Can never forget that.)
@ElMonoloco7890
@ElMonoloco7890 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, David Stern was a pain in the butt. I did not like how he handled the Suns vs Spurs series in 2007. A "what if video" of David Stern was not the commissioner but Adam silver video was would be nice. P.S. It was thanks to the "we believe" warriors that lead to the Suns vs Spurs series, because the Mavs had kicked our asses in the regular season, and was dreading having to play them in the playoffs that year. I was always thinking if we had that kind of shooting with Nash around and Amare I think we would have won the championship that year.

The other huge red flag for the Mavericks during this season, despite only having 15 losses in the regular season, was that 3 of those 15 regular season losses were to the Warriors. The fact that the Warriors swept the regular season series must have had some sort of mental impact on the Mavs alongside all the reasons you listed as well!

3:50 won 16 of their last 21 games That's .762 and would've put them on pace for a 60-win season. I feel this was the REAL Warriors as before this, they had injuries, different players before the trade, and new players getting used to the new team. If the Pacers trade was made during the off season and there were no injuries, Warriors would've won +60 games.

That's cherry-picking. They lost in the second round and didn't win 60 games the next season.
@henryngo3860

This is cherry picking too, Games 1 and 2 in Utah were close and could had gone either way. The next year they traded one of their top scorers in Jason Richardson. Stehpen Jackson missed games due suspension and they started the season 0-6

@Henry : still, they had a matchup advantage against Dallas (Dirk in particular), and their two stars got really hot.
@razkable

they also had a stretch late in the year where they lost 3 of 4 by a total of 7 points so they easily could of finished the year 19-3 which is a 70 win pace...

Its true I was 20 in 2007 and had never seen the Warriors make the playoffs. I had stories of Run TMC but I would have been 5 or so at the time. Watching the Warriors make the playoffs in a league where over half the teams make the playoffs and fail for over a decade it was a big deal. With all the 20 win seasons and one shitty draft pick outside the top 3 after another it was hard. Then you finally get top 3 and you get Dunleavy who was a solid player for a long time but not what a starved franchise was hoping for. To see the Warriors actually win a playoff series at the time it was like winning the championship.

If you’re a real warriors fan to this you should be extremely proud you have the best shooting and scoring backcourt in the history of the NBA in the Splash Bros and Steph being the best shooter EVER since God created man. Two Warriors that started with that team and making that Warriors team unique in every single way shape and form!

The 1999 Knicks where special, as they remain the only number 8 seed to go all the way to the Finals. All the other 8 seeds that beat the number 1 seed failed to advance beyond the 2nd round.
@razkable
@razkable 5 жыл бұрын
that was a lockout and they weren't a real 8th seed as the 1 seed was only 6 games better than the 8th seed....they were 3 weeks away from flipping spots possibly...and the 2011 grizz 2012 76ers and 94 nuggets all took their foes to 7 games in round 2 and the 2012 76ers took the Celtics 7 who went the farthest aka most games in the east finals of any of these teams so to me their the best of the 8 seeds...

This is why that 2011 championship was the last legit championship. It was really meant for Dirk. In '06 after being up 2-0 in the finals, lose the remaining 4 games. Then after a year, in a road for redemption, they got humiliated and beaten badly by an 8th seed. Then the next few years they were just a mid tier team, no way of getting a top draft pick. No deep playoff run. That's why I respect Dirk even tho he just got one ring. That one ring was worth more than KD's two "rings". He had to wait many years in one team to win.

to think they made 1 playoffs from 1994-2012, make 6 playoffs winning 4 series period making 0 west finals between 1977-2012 and to see where they are now is pretty nuts...not to mention all the players they gave up on traded away early or didnt want to pay or keep...they really screwed the fans didnt they...now their moving...so yeah...their best team regular season record wise from 1977-2014 went 55-27 and lost in round 1 getting upset and their best advancing team in that span went 45-37 in 2014 lol......
