Nice and fair video. At 18:20 of the video, you have 0.500" of recoil pad vertical adjustment plus, if you notice, the recoil plate assy is offset from top to bottom. Flipping the recoil plate upside down will provide the ability to get the recoil pad higher, allowing the shooter and rifle to get lower to the ground.

MDT also sell M-Loc/QD sling attachments that can be purchased for anything you want to attach to the rifle chassis.

I have a matrix chassis and also like a high butt pad position. I found that you can rotate the pad 180 degrees. This raises the position 1/2-3/4”. I also built the grip up (vert-2) to provide a middle finger stop just above the bottom of the trigger guard. I found this to be much more helpful indexing my trigger finger than their finger offset.

SO it raises MORE than the 1/4 inch he talks about? TO 1/2 or 3/4 inch...

@jesusisalive32273 жыл бұрын
There is a reason the mag well is angled. It is to you can use it as a wedge in concert with the adjustable barricade stop. You put the barricade stop on the other side of say a fence top rail then you pull that wedge down and lock it in. You can't do that with the mdt. Flip the buttpad over and you can gain more height.
@Covertnoob53 жыл бұрын
Yea I mean no one really uses the MPA adjustable barricade stop. It’s just not a great solution because it promotes hard on hard contact. That’s why we use bags and use forward pressure against the bag with the magwell.

I have an MPA BA I like the fact that they're ambidextrous. Really useful for a lefty wanting to resell. I have an MDT LSS-XL Gen ll. Nice piece of kit also. I think MPA has the better vertical grip but that is splitting hairs. Nice job but I need to rewatch, the shooting was competing with your comparison.

I've got an MPA and a MDT ACC. Honestly, I love em both. They're definitely of equal quality. I have the Gen 1 Ckye bipod and honestly despise the thing. I still use it in F-Class and LR Steel challenges, but it just isn't a solid bipod. The Gen 2 apparently fixed a ton of issues, but I am not about to buy another $500+ bipod.
@Covertnoob53 жыл бұрын

MDT sells (which you have them on your chassis on the fore-end of yours. Those external weights have “QD” holes in them for a sling to be mounted. I can see them in your video. LOL
@Covertnoob54 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, but that means you have to use the weights. Or purchase a qd sling mount. I don’t want to run weights at the very front of the chassis as it’ll throw off the balance. Some people don’t want to run any exterior weights on the chassis at all. My point was in comparison to the MPA, they are built in and no additional purchase is needed.

Hey man I’m in the very beginning of wanting to start competition shooting BUT I have no idea what’s the best way to start. Budget isn’t too much of an issue. What would you recommend as a way to start shooting for competition and what equipment would you recommend?
@Covertnoob54 жыл бұрын
Tomahawk Tom nice! Getting into comps is always fun. I would recommend looking for some local matches first as those are typically slower paced and more mellow than a 2-day. If you can’t find any locals, you can look at the NRL and PRS websites to see if there’s a national level match near you, but I’m sure you can find a local first. Equipment wise, for a local just make sure you have at least a 1moa rifle, a scope with dial “tactical” type turrets that’s repeatable and enough ammo. I’d also recommend a good bipod. And solid confirmed dope to at least 600y but 1000y would be preferred. Other than that just go shoot! People will let you borrow other stuff you might need.

So you grind or adjust LITERALLY every single chassis you have to fit your AW mags?..... Bro, why not just change the mags.... Seems the obvious choice, but hey, each to their own. I use AI mags and haven't had to grind or adjust a single chassis or mag.
@Covertnoob53 жыл бұрын
AW mags give you a competitive advantage. Shoot enough matches and you’ll see stages where guys are literally asking to borrow AW mags. Not sure where you’re located but if you shoot out west where it’s more natural terrain that you’re shooting off of instead of a solid metal barricade every time like the east coast then you’ll notice quickly. They’re more reliable and especially if you run BR based cases they feed much better. Not to say AI mags don’t have their place, but AWs are the top mags. Honestly if an action won’t shoot AWs I won’t use the action.
