I remember growing up on reservoir- skiing, swimming and camping from 60s thru 80s. Children were safe even playing in the waters at night with no fear of gators. Children could walk back and forth thru water from sandbar to houseboat with no fear of a reptile taking u under and THEN this happened...... Alligator growth either intentionally for money or non intentional?? Did revenue generate alligator growth at our once enjoyed waters? Did revenue overrule the destruction of the enjoyment of family lakes and reservoirs that the consumer once enjoyed? It is sad to camp overnight now and see nothing but gator eyes in waters. But of course it does generate funding for Mississipi I guess? Hopefully MS will not do the same thing to other animals (like the black bear) by growing the population just to hunt and kill them later.
