Wen Ning... this poor, sweet child that deserved better and was born into the wrong family...
@fangurks2 жыл бұрын
I'd like to think he wasn't born into the wrong family. Yes, he was on the losing side of the war, but everything that happened to him after the war ended, was on the other clans, not on his. No one was forcing them to mistreat the Wens, it's just cause they're assholes.

Wen Ning deserves all the love people could ever give him! I honestly didn't understand that he was the Ghost General until I read the novel but since then, my heart has been breaking steadily for him - he didn't deserve any of the things done to him and anything that happened to him afterwards and now I'm crying T.T

The relationship between Wei Ying and Wen Ning is very beautiful, because you see the admiration and it seemed that you can see that they have each other. Although Wen Ning came from the Wen clan, he did not hesitate for a second to help Wei Ying when his own sect wanted to kill them, putting the safety and comfortable life of him and his sister at risk. Although it is not shown with the naked eye, the appreciation he has for Wen Qing is also seen, and even when Wen Ning murdered Jin Zixuan, Wei Ying steadfastly refused to let both of them surrender because the one who had given the orders was the one who had given the orders. and Wen Ning only protected him. Later when he revives, Wen Ning kneels before him and apologizes for everything he did and Wei Ying tells him in a sweet way to stop because he was not to blame for what happened and that he should not ask for forgiveness since he only followed orders To be honest, I like Wei Ying and Wen Ning's relationship more than Wei Ying and Lan Zhan's relationship. Well, when Wei Ying told him to stop because he was simply hurt by the ingratitude and he continued to hold him by putting his benefit first before how Wei Ying should feel. It doesn't matter that you've lost control this was not right
@fangurks2 жыл бұрын
Ah, totally agree with you. With everything, really! Especially when Wen Ning kneeled after the resurrection. If I remember correctly, didn't Wei Wuxian tell him to stop by just also kneeling and bowing in front of him, which got Wen Ning flustered, and Wei Ying being like: "If you kneel, I kneel. I was the one in control."

Also, which scene are you referring to with the last one? (P.S.: It's funny to me, cause. I started watching this show because was looking for more danmei/BL shows, and ended up loving so many relationships in this story more than the BL main relationship. xD)

I didn’t know that the Ghosts General was Wen Ning till it was revealed and you have no Idea how much I cried. I am not emotional as a person and I don’t usually cry during movies or sad story’s or any of the such. This just shows how much I strongly think Wen Ning went through a lot, A LOT he didn’t deserve and how much it hurt me.

I think one of the saddest things about Wen Ning is thinking that he was going to die anyway. If the Wens won the war, he would die because he was considered a traitor, since in the original story he died because he was a Wen, even though he fought on the right side.

After reading the novel, I realised how truly wonderful Wei Wuxian and Wen Ning could’ve worked out. I think their relationship really would’ve brought out the absolute best in each of them. From the start, Wei Wuxian highlighted Wen Ning’s blossoming potential, encouraging his archery skills when no one else did: even after he failed due to his anxiety, performing in front of a crowd, Wei Wuxian kept sure faith in him. He understood him. He assured him he’d only do better the more the failure happened. Moved by the interaction, Wen Ning sacrificed his comfortable life and family for his safety, sheltering Wei Wuxian and his brother in his own home. Even when his home sect wanted their blood, Wen Ning still did everything he could to protect them. While kicked and accused by a furious Wuxian - overcome by the loss of his sister - Wen Ning chose to bear the terrible responsibility alone, despite knowing it was Wei Wuxian who lost control of his killing. After coming back to life, Wen Ning kneeled to him in shame, but Wei Wuxian simply mirrored his movements, forcing him to stand, tenderly telling him that it wasn’t his fault. They always, always lift each other up. As a fierce corpse, Wen Ning silently cleared the path for Wei Wuxian, walking ahead to destroy any walking corpses his young master would’ve come across. In the Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji’s drunken escapades, he even quietly files away all the embarrassing things they wrote on the city walls, peacefully cleaning up their messes without complaint. I know the attraction isn’t there as in the main ship, but I do truly believe Wei Wuxian and Wen Ning would been so good for each other. Genuine respect and mutual admiration would make a refreshingly healthy relationship. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji have gone through a lot, but it still bothers when I remember how Lan Wangji sadistically punishes him out of jealousy in the cave of Xanwu, biting him for flirting with another when they weren’t even on good terms yet! I also feel uncomfortable when Wei Wuxian tells him to stop, but he refuses, prioritising himself over Wei Wuxian’s right to not be in discomfort and pain. I don’t care how out of control your will is - that can’t be the way you treat people you truly care about.

I agree with a lot of things you said. Especially how Lan Wangji is with the forcefulness. It really turned me off in the extra when he was basically forcing himself on Wei Wuxian 😕. And I also really love Wen Ning’s character. He’s extremely kind to the point of sacrificing himself.
@amberxv47773 жыл бұрын
Agreed. There's something in the main ship that majorly turns me off. First, the age difference, after WWX resurrection there's like +15 years age difference. Second LWJ was kinda rapey from the start, since that first kiss till druckened shit and don't let me start on the sex scenes. Those were disgusting to read through. Third, they're really not compatible in mind. LWJ is like a sugar dad to WWX which feel like a baby(like Wen Ning) LWJ and WWX is my least favorite type of dynamic. When the energetic special guy ends up with the stoic emotionless pining type of guy. It's a major turn off.

Yo, can someone tell me what’s going on? I’m so lost and confused. So in the anime, at the beginning where they were fighting the goddess statue and Wei Wuxian summon the ghost general... is the ghost general Wei Ning? Like later on in the episodes, it also shows Wei Ning too but alive. Did they go back to the past?
@lachucholayil5 жыл бұрын
Somewhere from the Ep 2 onwards they go back into the past before Wei Wuxian's death. They go back to the time before he was the Yiling Patriarch and show you how he became the Yiling Patriarch and fell into the dark arts. So yes at that time Wen Ning is alive and all.
