Encanto actually takes place in Colombia and is based on Colombian culture since all of the colorfulness and food that are in there are from Colombia, a beautiful country. In the movie they make it clear by putting Colombian flag colors all through out the movie. NO HATE just wanted to tell you the truth!!! Edit: also in the move during “The Family Madrigal” song there is a clip where the kids are in front of a sign that says Colombia 🇨🇴. ALSO, all the songs from Encanto are sung by Colombian singers and sound like typical Colombia music!! Like in the beginning you can hear maracas after young Mirabel doesn’t get her gift! Which is a typical Colombian dance called Cumbia! You can see on Disney’s KZbin channel how they explore different parts of Colombia 🇨🇴 to get ready for the movie and see how it looks like! And the butterflies toucans and cheetahs are very typical animals in Colombia I think Colombia is known for one of the most colorful and diverse countries in the world. (Colombia also has the most Butterfly Species in the world!)
