Great insight. As a fan of Godflesh I'm a bit surprised that they would do such a thing, but also at the same time they're hardly the only band that does that - at many gigs the headliner is meant to sound the best and the loudest, which is at the sacrifice of the opening bands.. Sad state of affairs in the music industry.

U forgot to mention the Swedish influence making this pedal famous within the death metal scene.

I did mention the Swedish setting somewhere. But that could also be in another video about this pedal....hmmm

Sounds sick, like a metal version of big black, sans guitar of course.

Do you have links for your band that played with Godflesh? I'd like to check it out, also, I'm a huge fan of Godflesh as well, did you ever figure out why they did that? Did that ruin your enjoyment of them? I feel like I'd be super pissed even if I was a fan, it's a dirty thing to do...

The band was called "Reel". There are a couple of videos on my channel. Yep, we were puzzeled at first, but really pissed to hear the complete story a couple of days later from the guy who was instructed by Godflesh, or their manager, to install that limiter.

@@neoland666 I'll be your next subscriber, and for what it's worth, the 2 tracks I heard (from 2006) are quite good. Reminds me of Depeche Mode and Sisters of Mercy but industrial sounding. I wanna hear your 90s material but it's quite hard to search your band, "Reel Big Fish" keeps coming up... I kept thinking I had heard of your band before but I somehow mixed them up with Grotus.

@Trigger Man I read somewhere this : Ben Green used two things. An all tube amp full blast and an HM2 with very specific knob settings (volume to taste, bass at 9, treble at 3, and the distortion barely turned up). But I honestly don't know if that is right.
