A lot of colleges actually don't take the credit. So don't feel too bad. APhg is really only there to be an entry level course it's really not that important, trust. A lot of us took it because we were Freshmen and didn't know the value of it. The only plus side is that it prepares you for harder AP classes that will come up later in our academic careers and the +10 points on our grade, helps with the GPA. Another persons opinion, "Despite this, very few universities give credit for this exam, so I wouldn’t recommend wasting time, studying for that test over again." So focus on your upcoming AP classes and don't worry about this one. Good job anyways

@@Chadius_Thundercock passing is a score of a 3, 4, 5. However, some colleges don’t even give college credit for a 3, so basically, you want to aim for a 4 and a 5.

My freshmen year I took the APHUG test and got a 1 :) However, I ended up getting 4 for AP world history and a 5 for AP gov, so know that you are not limited by one bad test score. Really I look back at that test and kinda laugh at how stupid it was. It didn't negatively affect my life in any way. I'm now in college and doing well. ^v^

Junior here! 👋 Just took my 4 AP test and I stumbled upon this video and remembered being a freshman. For the freshmen that are watching this, AP Human Geography is a very good introduction to AP but barely means anything for universities as classes like APUSH would primarily be your history courses that are most likely would benefit you a lot so don't stress if you feel like you did bad! If you feel like you want to improve, there's always ways to improve your studying (taking better notes, flash cards, ect.) Use this experience to change yourself and your study habits and next thing you'll know you'll be ready for much more challenging courses along your academic career that require good studying 👍

Upcoming freshman here! I had a choice between AP World History and AP Human Geo and I picked Geo (because it sounded more interesting AND everyone said it was enjoyable and easy), do colleges really care? I know most don't accept human geo credit and I heard that taking harder AP's like World History would increase your chance of actually getting accepted into good colleges since it shows you took hard classes. Is this necessarily true? I can still switch to AP world if it's worth the stress.

I took AP HuGe as a sophomore last year and got a 4. It was really easy but since I only took one AP class and it was over zoom it didn't prepare me well enough for APUSH or the rigor of AP Physics 1 so I had to drop both of them to their easier and non AP counterparts. I'm still in AP Lang and we took the AP test today and it wasn't too bad.

College sophomore here-don’t worry about this, y’all. AP Human can get you out of some cultural course requirements, but only at certain colleges and a lot of the time there are still ways to get out of taking them. It’s good practice for later courses, that’s all. Even then, the AP curriculum is often more difficult than college curriculums, so you’ll be prepared for whatever you need to retake in college regardless. I know many people who could’ve accepted their credits, didn’t, and have 4.0 GPAs. You’ll all be just fine, just keep working at it.

@@tallbeanerboi6915 know this is late but if your talking about GPA requirements for AP classes, if your schools public you and/or your parents can keep harassing them and they will eventually let you sign a waiver to skip any grade requirements or prerequisites. Some kid at my school took 7 APs junior year with a 2.5 GPA and no prereqs, he got all ones 💀.

That's how I felt when I got a 2 in APUSH. Goddamn the test was so hard, but it's also the fact the AP class was full, I took regular US history, I didn't study for the exam, and it was the pandemic year (remote learning). For AP Human Geography this year, I think I did alright - a 2 or 3. The frqs kinda messed me up but I expected that since I struggled with 2 units (economic and urban) lol I studied a little and did well in the class, but I'm hoping for the best

@@takeinomiyas if you know generally what happens during the time you should be fine on mcq. It's the frq where you have to study a little more specifically on what event happened in what date. I would say to have at least one or two event from each time period that you know and can write about in different aspects for frq (socially, economics, etc). I just took the apush test and I asked a lot of people and they all thought the saq was the hardest part this year.

I took the APHG exam last year and I was freaking out bc I was so worried I didn't have much time to study and thought I scored poorly on it. I ended up getting a 4 even though I didn't remember some major topics we covered (the case studies and religion sections got me the most)- but I guess it just goes to say you're probably gonna score better than you think! I stressed way too much for nothing tbh, so you shouldn't either. At the end of the day it's just a score and definitely not the most important compared to the other APs out there. :) just be proud of urself for having completed it. that's what i wish i told myself last year

I relate to you, I was so confident and I got a 2. I know it won’t affect me but I really wanted that school AP award. I’m not taking another AP class next year so it’s gonna be a long wait. I feel empty and I can’t stop thinking about what I could’ve done differently. I tried so hard and even my teacher told me that I had a chance of passing due to how well I was studying. But it turns out I’m dumb af and I got a goddamn 2. I hate this i might cry all day now. Edit: Little note here; I actually did better than most people in my class so far. A lot of my friends got a 1. It sounds pretty bad but think about it, all we did in my AP human geo class was learn about countries and then do random quizzes on units. We literally had to guess and retake those quizzes to have a good grade in the class. Compares to other APHUG classes I’ve heard, they actually read the textbook and study. For me they basically just threw the textbooks at our class and then we took it home only to have it sitting there all dusty. The only reason I believe i did somewhat decent was because the weeks before the AP exam I was relentlessly studying through Mr. Sinn videos and AP test examples. Because I didn’t have ANY experience with APHUG throughout the whole year, I only had about two weeks full of studying prior to the exam. I really thought I was going to do amazing due to my relentless studying. I also did a practice exam prior in class, I got a 56% which my teacher said was pretty much almost or was a 3. It motivated me more and I thought that if I kept studying, I would actually get a 3. When the day of the exam arrives, I am bombarded with objectives I have not even studied prior. I recognized more things and did pull through somewhat. Then the FRQ’s came. I was writing nonstop and my hand was sore, meanwhile I was trying to write the most reasonable ideas that came up in my mind. All in all, I should’ve known that I would not pass. Although it was pretty much my fault since I never really studied at all through the whole year, I put my all into the exam for a 2. Meanwhile many of my classmates who were just like me throughout the year, ended up with a 1. Yes, we probably weren’t the best APHUG class ever but many of us were doing well, at least for me, I ended the class with an A. :)

I got a 4 last year some how. Only studied the last night and ran out of time at the end and guessed the last 10 questions. Either lucks on my side or my frq carried. Definitely wasn’t expecting the score knowing how lazy I am with everything and how much I procrastinate. I can only imagine how bad it feels to try your best and see a low number and I feel for you all. Just have to remember that not a lot of colleges will take the credit and it doesn’t affect your class grade ( I don’t remember ).

I can sadly relate. I was known to be the best in my AP Computer Science class in sophomore year and even made a game in python that had many features while also managing to blow up on replit, I applied all that I knew on the AP Exam but managed to make a score of 2. I was kind of crying inside the moment I saw my score and I didn't know what I did wrong. Maybe it was because I wasn't good when it came to knowing the history of computer science, but the true reason remains a mystery.

when i took ap human geo my class didnt get to a few units and one of the units we didnt get to was agriculture and the test that year was so focused on agriculture i wanted to kms

I know that a lot of people say that the exam is the easiest, but it really isn't. I think that it really depends on what FRQ set you get and how much of the material you know. Im a freshman, has straight A's, but still feel like I bombed the FRQ. Just a question, did you take the exam, and what was your score?

@@axsthetic_kayla9355 I didn't take the exam/class as it doesn't really transfer to any college credit as the class is really only to introduce freshman to AP. I took 13 other AP classes and talked to a lot of people who have taken it and most of them said it was much easier than their other AP classes. The concepts in human geography are mostly strict memorization without any math or essays, which makes it much easier than almost all the other exams. The only comparable difficulty exam at my school is AP environmental which I did take and it was much easier than my other exams. Also human geography only requires a 70% for 5 which is lower than other similar difficulty exams like US GOV or environmental
