originally, nct dream is a rotational sub-unit where only teenagers of nct were able to be part of it. dream have a graduation system where when a member reach the adult age (20y/o in korea), they will graduate and stop promoting as a dream member. mark's last promotion as a dream member was 'we go up' and at the end of the year 2018, nct dream released a song titled 'candle light' and also performed for the last time as ot7 at 'the dream show'. mark actually cried (first time seeing him like that) cuz he had to grad. however!!! early 2020, sm decided to change the whole grad format so theyre a fixed unit now and mark will be a dream member again :D i think its mostly bcs a lot of nctzens requested for them to be a fixed unit and remove the graduation system since the members basically grew up together. we love seeing the chemistry between them 💚 i also cried a whole lot but sm really decided to clowned us :)

I think the craziest part is he was a leader before he was a leader. Before dream was establish 5/7 worked and trained together ( Mark , jeno, heachan , jaemin, jisung) mark was still the oldest out of all of them and alway looked after and took care of them . Like when they did that pre-debut birthday prank on Jisung, Mark was the first one to hug him when he started crying. Mark was only 13-14 when he entered the company and having to look after 4 other younger people could be hard but mark did it. Even after renjun and chenle got added he loved and took care of them just the same. He’s always complimenting dream and calling them cute ( it’s not a dream video if mark isn’t calling dream cute or dream calling mark cute ) mark was they’re leader and eldest brother since the beginning of time and jeno even called him his emotional support hyung I can’t imagine the pain they went through knowing they’re leader would no longer be there anymore. But I’m glad mark is back now he’s honestly one of the best leaders I’ve seen in kpop and im so thankful he gets to be 7 again with dream.
