Love how Well separated are the playback channels and the improvising channels. The chain selector on the synth rack seam a really nice way to play with vsti on the same channel ! Quick question, that's probably in the deep dive class on in bloom. But i'm curious at the end whats your sample rate / buffersize / latency in ableton ? I guess the RME should help a lot !

Hi. Sorry for the late answer: I'm at 48kHz, Buffer 512, latency around 10 ms (which never bothered me ...). Hope this helps

Is it possible to play without Ableton for you? Like sludge, karenn and octave one. That wil be very impressive
@arquiteuthis

technically he could run sequences just with the keystep and the korg sq-1 through the modular without ableton (and does that in a way, he talks about it when discussing "improvising" and the apc mini).... he could supplement with another outboard polyphonic groovebox or sequencer like a digitakt I guess.... octave one use an MPC as their master sequencer and for all of their midi to send to external gear.... an MPC is basically a standalone equivalent to ableton in this regard. karenn have modular racks and other outboard gear all clock/trigger synced so they're just playing on top of one another. why is it so impressive to not use ableton? you do realize ableton was created by robert henke to specifically as a software sequencer that could do things that weren't possible at the time with standard hardware sequencers and even today would set you back thousands of quid to do with euroracks. not everybody is a hardware purist and the beauty of ableton is the ability to go from producing to playing live seamlessly which other DAWs aren't as good at. it's really just different styles and approaches for the same thing. have you been to an octave one show or just watched them online? it's basically just them loading in and loading out that rat's nest of equipment.... it's beautiful and they are one of my favorite live acts, but just saying, sometimes it's about using the most efficient tools for the job. they know the mpc up and down but a lot of people won't necessarily have one laying around like they have a laptop.

Sorry for the late reply: well i could probably do that by using something like an octatrack to playback samples or stems from our songs and then adding up with hardware. But then: i've been "working" for many painful years with sequencers like the one in the JX3P or an MSQ700 actually waiting for all the possibilities that Ableton now has. Forgive me if i don't want to go back to these times :)

@@ame_innervisions no problem for the late reply. It's still impressive. Hope to see you somewhere this summer in the Netherlands, your sets are always a journey for me.
