He was great in clay with his angles, drop shots, very consistent. Injuries killed him but maybe watch some matches of him and see what (if anything) you could incorporate to your game! I rarely comment but have to say congratulations. Tough opponent when he got into rythm. I am taking notes from your mindset. Normally my first serve works great but last match on a slower, bouncier hard court, my opponent kept returning deep balls, taking on the rise and pressuring the serve, forcing my mistakes. I did not adjust. Your self analysis are gold. Please keep documenting your journey and sharing your thoughts, it really is priceless. Now onto the next one! 💪

Great job, fantastic gusty win. Love the aggression turn up after you lost the second set. Serve and volleying on clay against what looked like a clay court specialist, really bold and effective. I wonder if when he’s a bit farther back if perhaps a few more approach shots that are short but low and make him run up and hit up but without the somewhat greater risk of drop shots could have also been effective against this type of player. I guess that’s especially hard though on clay where balls bounces higher. Inspiring win!

Kudos to you for that win, a clay court match is a hell of a workout. It also takes guts to serve and volley on the European red clay (not exactly the same as Har-Thru) and it is an effective strategy because it keeps the opponent guessing... Reminded me of Rod Laver who could beat the best European and South American clay specialists while dominating everybody else on grass... Still the only one with two Grand Slams !
