Ingrid, I also think finding the good thing in every day is a motto to live by. Every night I list the good things down in a little journal right before I go to sleep. I love when KZbinrs are real...thanks! I'm 22 and I struggled with self harm for 9 years, so I have a lot of scars I'm not proud of. Up until last summer, every time I had to wear a t-shirt or swimsuit, I would use makeup to cover my scars. But last year I finally got tired of hiding. Yeah, sometimes I get people staring at me or awkward conversations, but my scars are part of me, and I've moved on from that part of my life. I don't have to hide anymore. Its really boosted my confidence :)

Thanks for sharing your story. You and I have very similar stories about acne -- still dealing with mine but it's gotten a lot better over the years. I was so shy too and awkward but now I can talk to people and make them laugh! And I enjoy makeup as well -- I love that, it's a supplement, not a requirement! I worked for MAC for almost 5 years!

Thank you so much for this video, Ingrid. Your channel has helped me step far out of my comfort zone and learn to love me for me. When I was sixteen, my parents told me they were getting divorced, and it was very unexpected and emotional for me. I can relate to you so much! I think that starting highschool and losing my friend kind of triggered me being afraid of everything and being really shy. I could never feel confortable with people, and I even have trouble expressing how much I appreciate them. But, I want to build relationships with people and put myself out there more.
