My Chinese isn’t great either but I can tell your tones are still a little off! Don’t be discouraged, it’s really difficult!! I would recommend exaggerating them more until you’re used to it and get Jimmy to check them. Your first tone is good and your second tone is okay but you need to start lower if that makes sense (only the first tone should use a higher “singing-like” voice the whole time, you need to deepen it for the other tones). The third tone doesn’t sound right to me at all. Again, you need to start a bit lower and then go even lower and then back up past where you started. The fourth tone is ok but needs to be sharper. It should start pretty high and then harshly go deep (kind of like a dog bark?). I’m not an expert so please take this with a grain of salt! You’re doing really well and have the right idea but it takes a lot of practice ❤️ Make sure to try other sounds that aren’t just “ma” because it might help you to hear the differences more. I highly recommend googling “mandarin tone contours” on Images. It will better illustrate the pitch you need to follow.
