Twist in my sobriety is change in my soberness, meaning the love relationship she was in was just a change in her average road or in her unextreme behaviour. Something hedonistic rather than deep. But can we trust the narrator because if the man in the previous verse wanted to will her to goodness, "she likes to think" she can not do what he says. Certainly she was affected in some way with their religiousness but with some empty feeling after a sexual relationship which lacked some intimacy. She is also aware of the conflict inside her, with perhaps twist in sobriety being her own conclusion.
