So I set the cannons up as weapon groups 1 and 2 , so I believe only two cannons are firing for each group , it is helping me improve my aim .

In the Me 262 there are four rules if you see a Spitfire, 1: Keep speed up in level flight. 2: Don"t climb. 3: Don"t dive. 4 Don't turn.

I’ve discussed the 262 with AAF pilots who flew against them and witnessed there prowess. The only way to really counter them was at low altitudes & catch them when they where in the RTB phase.

Obviously no one told RAF pilots that since both the Spitfire and Tempest accounted for quite a number of them and that was mostly not when they were returning to their base but in combat well away from the safety of their bases.

The Me 262 had no chance, Spitfires including the older Mk IX shot quite a number down and Me 262's failed to shoot any Spitfires down.

@@hb9145 So superior that what happened every time they met? if the Spitfire was armed the Me 262 pilot would try to run away, sometimes successfully but quite often the Me 262 was damaged or shot down. If the Spitfire was an unarmed photo reconnaissance version, the Spitfire pilot would simply outmaneuver the Me 262 and with a better climb rate and much higher service ceiling the Spitfire pilot could go up and the Me 262 could not follow. For the RAF who also had a jet fighter. Until late 1944 they saw very few Me 262's, to quote a Spitfire pilot in late 1944, "the Me 262 is not quite so scarce as it was but is not much of a threat "

@@barrierodliffe4155 There are several factors that decides the outcome of earial combat, and the pilot is by far the most important. The most experienced pilot usually wins. By late 1944, most of the good pilots were dead, and the Germans didn't have fuel to train the rookies properly. Furthermore, the Me 262 was first and foremost being used against Allied bomber formations, not for hunting Spitfires. As for performance: The Me 262 had a rate of climb of 3900 ft/min (20 m/s), and a service ceiling of 37.570 ft. Some Spitfires were better, some were worse, but they were all much slower than the Me 262. They were both very good aircraft, though. Fun fact: The great uncle of a friend of mine was a 43 and 331 Squadron Spitfire pilot, raking up six aerial victories before getting KIA by ground fire in the Netherlands in 1945.

@@hb9145 The most important pilots or most experienced went on to fly the Me 262 and they did go hunting Spitfires, especially photo reconnaissance Spitfires that no other Luftwaffe fighter could catch. The rate of climb and service ceiling being beaten by every Spitfire from the 1942 Spitfire Mk IX on. The Spitfire was slower but the Me 262 could only do its top speed for a very short time.

@@barrierodliffe4155 Again, it is important to remember the Me 262 was never intended for a dogfighting role but rather as a bomber interceptor. It filled this role very well. Many were jumped by diving allied fighters and attacked prior to landing. In level flight it's speed advantage was supreme. The 262 was much faster, so the 262-pilots could choose to engage or to fly away. The 262 was also superior in protective armour and in firepower (4 x 30mm). As for reconnaissance, there were high altitude Messershmitt Bf109-H at 15 km over the coast of Normandy after D-day, when it was swarming with allied fighters, and none were able to shoot them down. It is not that great a feat, and it does not show the superiority of any aircraft. The fact still remains: The Spitfire marked the end of an era. The Messersmitt 262 marked the start of a new one.

@@nickbaker4857 When the Me 262 was at 20,000 feet over 100 miles away from its base the Spitfire beat it and when the Me 262 attacked unarmed photo reconnaissance Spitfires it never managed to shoot any down. Spitfires were not used for attacking Me 262 bases. The first Me 262 to be shot down in combat was by a Spitfire, quite a lot more Me 262's had the same fate.

Rudolf Rudemacher claimed spitfire In febreuary and april Unteroffizier Koster made claims of 2 spitfires shot down So you can count them on your hands but claims were made against spitfires Of course the same book I quotes these from has THREE PAGES of British claims against Me262's granted a lot are just partials and damaged and it does not say what aircraft the british were using Colin Heaton Me262 Stormbird
