If I've got enough pairs coming together like this with no better strategy already happening, I'm instantly switching to the offense. But that's my play style. My feeling is either she just loves riichi mahjong (as do I) or she was focusing more on the stream itself.

@@Quantris a pong hand isnt worth much like an all simples but its easy to make and doesnt require any extra yaku. but a closed pong hand can lead to a hidden treasure yakuman. (four concealed triplets)

I think most would agree that full flush triples would be the best strategy with those draws. Haven't watched her other games to really figure out her playstyle, but somehow she's deadset on riichi mahjong here. Whether that's her default strategy or maybe she wanted to take it easy or put more mental energy towards the stream and chatting with baqua, I can't say for sure.
