Meade 6.0 AutoStar Update

I realize this is an old video and you might not even be monitoring it anymore, but thanks for the video! I was able to update my new LX600 Autostar II firmware and object database with relative ease. My one suggestion is that you film the video when you actually download the objects rather than afterward. I was confused with some messages I got in the bottom banner such as "404 errors" (momentarily), then when it started downloading txt files, I wasn't sure if I was getting the correct files, all this followed by an error window listing problems with a number of the items (that in hindsight, I am guessing were just obsolete files). Even if you needed to stop/resume filming to reduce the length during the download, actually seeing it happen would have been helpful.

My computer don't find the telescope. My cables and connections are the right ones. Would I need a special software for my LX200? Where do I found it?

I can't download tour list, etc. I went to file and www, but it says, can't find server.

If anyone can tell me where it is going wrong , I got the Autostar Control box as shown in the above video downloaded, obtained the correct #507 cable and hooked it up to my old windows laptop with a serial com 1 port, on switch on the communication established, the Autostar connect button was pressed, and at the bottom my Telescope LX200 appeared correctly with a correct version of the current software displaying (Ver 3.01) so I clicked on "Upgrade Autostar Software Now" button, via internet choice, so clicked on a dialogue box to fetch the latest version 6.1 , but it failed to communicate with the servers, I am guessing at Meade website, my internet connection is well and good as I was able to download the above Autostar upgrading suit box. So I am baffled why can I not get the connection to Meade servers? I know they are going through some kind of law suit with Orion, and may have filed bankruptcy, so question is where can I get version 6.1 Autostar II. for my LX200 14" GPS telescope?

I inherited an early etx 125, with the original remote (non autostar). Autostar controllers cost ~$120 or so. Wondering if there’s any software that will control the scope without also needing the autostar controller? Been looking at Stellarium but every example of people using it also have their auto controller hooked up, so I’m unclear whether it is a requirement for remote controlling of any kind? Thanks!

yes you need the hand box to setup the mount. if you have issues with the hand box you can update it or buy the replacement Audiostar hand box www.meademods.com

the Meade Camera will work on any scope. and if the software will not work than try to uninstall and reinstall the software. also make sure the cable your using is good and connected properly. It is a standard usb printer cable so any should work. let me know how it goes
