Keep up the good work. I love that someone is filming Long Island trails with a gimble.

Which is more difficult, Stillwell or Meadowlark?
@TheCranemeister5 жыл бұрын
In my opinion they are pretty close. I prefer Stillwell though.

The Cranemeister thanks! I usually ride Stillwell. Thinking of trying out MLP. Looks like a short trail though.

What kind of rack is that? I'm looking for something similar, do you recommend this one? Thanks
@TheCranemeister7 жыл бұрын
+Tom Luckner Its the Thule Sidearm. I have had this rack for about 8 years. It has been great except with my Pivot. The boost axle spacing is an issue for the sidearm. If you have a standard 100mm wide front axle I would definitely recommend it.

Thanks! I could use your advice for another purchase. I have been riding for two years on Long Island trails and I am about to purchase my next hardtail and I am torn between 29" and 27.5" wheels. Currently I ride a Giant 27.5 and its okay, but I feel I could attack the climbs a lot better on a 29er. Given that you are very experienced riding the trails and sandy conditions of Long Island, I could really use your two cents on this topic. The local bike shop by me was saying they feel that 27.5+plus are the best for the sandy trails we have. I mainly ride Glacier Ridge, East Setauket, Meadowlark, and Stillwell. I appreciate any advice, Thanks Crane!

+Tom Luckner I really like the 29er for our trails. The 27.5plus would be my second choice. If your still working on your technical skills or not riding all of the black diamond trails the plus size tire will really help your confidence and have you riding over everything in no time. If speed is the goal 29er is the way to go. By the way what shop is your local one?
@TomLuck7 жыл бұрын
The shop by me is Suffolk Pro Cycles in Ronkonkoma. I ride pretty much every black diamond, theres nothing that intimidates me too much ( I recently conquered the concrete jungle in Meadowlark). I feel my skills are progressing but I feel I lose a lot of energy laboring up climbs (specifically at Setauket) so that's why I was leaning towards a 29er. I feel my current bike is definitely holding me back. I was also considering spending a little more on a full suspension but I know the lower end FS bikes leave something to be desired. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond, I've been looking at so many bikes online that my head is spinning over all the specs and geometry numbers. It is easy to get caught up in all the different features but I need to constantly remind myself that I live on Long Island and not Moab Utah lol.

Just moved nearby. Gotta try this trail. Didn't know long island had moubike trails. Can't wait to try it. Are there any trail riding groups?
