Hi Melissa, I'm 50 with rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, I just had knee surgery, but I'm one of those who works out ten times harder than your average person, weight loss has always been my battle ground and I've tried every fad diet and wasted money on fitness trainers, I'm going to follow your example in the hopes it will work without going under the knife next year.

Hi Melissa! I love your channel! I am 53 and a 2X breast cancer survivor trying to get back in shape and eat healthy. I used to lift weights and work out many moons ago and just recently started doing meal prep and lifting weights. My hormones are all off so my oncologist and my PCP are getting together to see what will work best for me being a cancer survivor. Hopefully, I can do everything naturally.

Hi Melissa, I am new to you but a lifelong prisoner of weight. I happen to be turning 55 in a couple of weeks, which I am very happy about. Obesity is not acceptable for me. I want to be healthy, but it is more difficult as you get older. Your plan seems to be well thought out and doable. I look forward to implementing your process into my daily life. I have started following you on Instagram, also. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙏🏾

Hello Melissa! I am definitely doing meal prep since I don't like cooking. So doing meal prep means I'm only cooking a couple times a week. I'm new to strength training and really enjoying your videos. I've been watching for quite some time I just don't comment often. Keep up the great work on your channel!

Melissa, this video reminds me, as do many of your posts, that it is important to take care of ourselves. When I prepare my food in advance, I know that I will have healthful food that will nourish my body. When I don't, I may just go hungry, or grab whatever is convenient, neither of which is good. Thank you for the quality in your videos and for your caring heart. 😊

Not a fan of meal prep. Eating the same stuf for 3 days? On day 3 it's no longer fresh! Besides, heating the meal up in the plastic container in the microwave is anything but healthy. Im happier cooking/food prepping every single day. I like my food fresh and healthy.

I like what your doing, looking forward to getting back on track for 2022. A little nutritional advice ( am trained in this area) for longevity is: lose the foil, aluminum is linked to Alzheimers, use fresh ginger and garlic versus already in a jar. The medicinal properties are Much higher in ‘ fresh herbs/garlic’ than ones that sit on a shelf.

Melissa, would you consider doing a video on alcohol consumption? You mentionned a couple times that you used to drink and have cut it out altogether now. I think a lot of us find it hard to imagine not drinking at all (especially these days), but I know from experience that it does feel great and really helps with slimming down.

Hi, this is the second video I have watched since yesterday and all I can say is that I am inspired. I don't meal prep, except for my juices. A little bit about me: back in 2014 I was struck with a severe case of fibromyalgia. It took two years to be diagnosed (I love Dr's), and finally in the spring of 2016, I was finally 75% physically mobile. It took a few more years to regain some strength, but the muscle loss was tremendous. It's quite a shock to the mental aspect when you've been athletic all of your life. Fast-forward to the present, I am returning to cycling and running after a hiatus. But, I seriously need to reconstruct my body because of the atrophy and strength loss. I have adjustable dumbbells, an adjustable weight bench, and a rowing machine that was gifted to me. Food prep needs to become practice. I admire what you have accomplished, and see you as a role model to guide me in reconstructing my physical being. I am looking forward to watching the rest of your video library. Cheers!

I've followed Bright line eating for the past couple years having lost 30 lbs. I make 6 servings of oatmeal, w/ banana, nut butter, chia and flax seeds. I portion out four, and freeze the other two for when ever. I also make a big salad with lots of veggies, nuts, seeds legumes, using a simple vinaigrette with apple cider vinager and 1 tb olive oil, the good stuff. Then drizzle with strawberry balsamic vinager. SO good! Since watching you I've made an attempt to add more protein other than beans, nuts and seeds. I am just getting over Covid, and an injury of my hip and hamstring, so I'm easing into weights, stretching and swimming. I wish I could have signed up for your 8 week challenge. Between just starting to getting back to workouts after a couple years, (I'm almost 64) I felt like I really couldn't compete because of being out of shape and careful not to reinjuring myself. Plus I didn't have the money. BUT I took before photos and measurements and I'm inspired to follow along the best I can. Maybe I can try on a future challenge. You inspire me!

Coconut has a high burning point so it’s the best ‘vegetable’ oil to use. Olive oil is good to use when not heated.

I don't cook with salt and don't forget the chicken dish has soy sauce so your wouldn't need salt. It's always better to add salt when you eat the food not during cooking.

👍💯❣ I live alone and this is something I have been doing for many years. Because I found when I cook I would prepare it for days a head because I was busy working. I would plate up the meals in the plastic containers and freeze them. So I know I always had something delicious and nutritious to eat. And if I chose not to eat it that the 3rd day and fancy something else it would stay fresh in the freezer because I froze it straight away after it was cooked. I didn't know it was called officially Meal Prep. Its just something I found easy for me to do and not waste my food when I cooked a meal. But thank you for this video it showed I'm on the right track and I have started weighing my food now as I want to gain muscle. I'm just a skinny flat woman that loves to stay fit but would like to gain muscle as mine has despaired some how. I am 61 but shhhhh don't tell anyone.... I would like your help on how to gain muscle to improve and change my body composition. I do go to the Gym but only started doing that over the past 2 months. But I love it.. I want to grow.. Thank you ... take care.
