Put a few lemon wedges in ur lettuce and let it soak in the cold water and lemon for a few mint. (Like 10) and use the salad spinner, it keeps it from browning for a pretty long time.

Just a suggestion, my husband and I bought a meat grinder. Once a month we buy a beef roast and a pork roast (usually around 10 to 15 lbs from Sam's). We grind the whole thing and I freeze it in 1 lb packages. It has saved us a lot of money and we always have ground meat for meals.

I wanted to add a thank you. I have always used zipper sandwich bags to separate my chicken before freezing. I do turn them inside out and grab them like you do but I never thought to purchase fold/flap sandwich bags. They’re so much cheaper and I’m implementing this at my next shopping trip/meat prepping. Why didn’t I think of this!
@NannaNeely5 жыл бұрын
My husband and I buy our meats in bulk at Sam's too. We also bought a commercial grade grinder (to make ground beef and pork sausage) and a Food Saver at Cabela's, which is a great appliance for freezing in bulk as it will last longer using a food saver. Oh and we also bought scales to be sure that we pack one pound packages. We have two upright and a small apartment size freezers. It's just the two of us and we buy groceries at Sam's every 90 days. If you freeze ahead meals a food saver would be a great investment. Love the precooked bacon, gonna try that!

Love the hand mixer trick to shredding chicken, will be using that tip for sure! I cook chopped onion with my ground beef and store it in the freezer since most recipes call for onions and ground beef, saves one extra step. We also love freezing chopped onions and peppers for pizza and lots of other things. I hate chopping onions so we just chop a whole bunch at one time and no more crying for another month or 2!! :)

Thank you so much for the tip of using a hand blender to shred up cooked chicken. I saw you doing on another video and thought "Genius!". Now for a tip of my own. When I separate ground beef I flatten it in the bag like a pancake which freezes for better storage instead of it freezing in a big clump. This way you can stack it or stand it up better especially if people only have the typical fridge freezer and not a deep freezer. Love your videos. Hope the pregnancy is going well. Blessings 🤗
@donnawright79065 жыл бұрын
Cynthia Garza quicker thawing time for the ground beef when flattened thanks !
@AspienPadda5 жыл бұрын
I do your tip too! I find when microwave defrosting it somehow cooks the sides and leaves the middle. So I've been leaving it to thaw on its own. If I forget to take it out early enough, I pause the microwave and flip the meat from time to time.
@cygarza755 жыл бұрын
I don't usually take it out to thaw so I just add it to the pan and add a little either vegetable broth, beef broth or water. It steams quick and allows me time to prep the other stuff.
@AspienPadda5 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah @@cygarza75 my parents do that too but it involves more effort to get into smaller chunks than I'm willing to do haha. I suppose it is better than microwave cooking the mince though. Thanks for reminding me of this option
