As a young woman with autism, I know exactly what Heavenly is going through and dealt with bullying throughout my years in elementary and middle school, I didn't have any supportive friends at the time and everybody treated me differently, not wanting to be my friend at all. The bullying stopped when I entered high school where I finally made a real friend, who I'm still friends with to this day, and we both found out we both are on the autism spectrum and shared a lot more things in common than I expected. I was so happy to finally find a real friend and I finally accepted the fact that I was autistic after all these years, I never let negativity affect me anymore and to be positive with a big smile to show I am proud of my diagnosis.

This breaks my heart watching this video 😭 Full story down below Well I have 2 disabled siblings with autism and a rare genetic disorder and a lot of people bully them but I’m happy to know that there are some really sweet people out there that do really care. There's a boy in my math class with autism. He gets bullied, but not to his face. Behind his back. He's really smart and we were paired up together for a math sheet we had to do. He helped me with stuff i couldn't figure out. I'm blind in one eye and that eye is lazy so i'm made fun of for it, but he called it cool and he's never seen something like that before. It really made my day. I am a person who WILL NOT stand up for bullying. Just because somebody acts differently, doesn't make them any less of a human with a heart and feelings. No matter what race, religion, disability, or interests somebody has, shouldn't give you the right to treat them any less than what you treat others. THEY HAVE FEELINGS! Stand up for those who're bullied, and don't be the bully. As my principal always says, "Be a buddy, not a bully."

While it's nice to see a rare depiction of a Black autistic girl (having been one myself), I really wish the message of these was "autistic people and other disabled people are human beings worthy of respect" instead of "be nice to disabled people because maybe they can benefit you in some way." Because guess what? Some autistic people aren't good with math! I'm proof of that! We're still people just like everyone else, even if we can't all be the Rain Man for our neurotypical friends. I need caffeine.

It's rather concerning how you depict autism as a superpower, utilizing it as a plot point to alter her mindset, instead of acknowledging autistic individuals as human beings deserving of equal treatment. I hope this doesn't reflect your perspective on people with autism, but considering the recurring theme in most of your videos, it appears to be.
@Emma-ei2zk Жыл бұрын
Yeah, in an attempt to be "accepting" hes just being horribly abelist and spreading harmful info
@cheepydog4 ай бұрын
Exactly, they always make autism look like a superpower when it’s not, it’s not something to be made fun of but it’s also not an advantage. I know there’s a thing called savant syndrome but not all autistic have it, in fact it’s very rare and it doesn’t make you good at EVERYTHING, just a certain part. You should accept autistics but you also shouldn’t make it look like autism makes you become einstein

As a late diagnosed Autistic, school was a nightmare. To me, I think about Autism as Macintosh and the rest of the world as Windows. Mac and Windows weren't always able to talk to each. A bridge via software was needed for communication between the two. Likewise a bridge is needed for better communication between those with autism and the world. This is urgently needed to improve the unemployment rate of autistics. I left the world of IT to help get this started. It's scary but it's necessary.

Thank you for showing how we can be just as intelligent as people who are not neurodivergent. I’m always seeing Autism being shown with people doing a lot more stimming, or are higher needs. I’m so glad they are showing that we are all not doing the same thing. However no matter where you are on the spectrum you deserve respect .
