As a Dutch white kid born in Africa. I can confirm that "you cant just ask people why they are white" is a quote I hear everytime I get introduced to a new group of people. Also, "Africa" is a nickname people will give you, whether you like it or not.

Toaster strudel is an I guess American thing from Pillsbury which is a pastry company where you usually buy things in the raw dough format and bake it yourself but toaster strudels are essentially a frozen answer to Pop-Tarts which you just buy in boxes and most people heat up in their toaster but a lot of people like me just eat them straight out of the pouch but toaster strudel it doesn't have hard pastry it's very soft and flaky and they come Frozen and you put them in the toaster just to heat up to you know melt the inside and make it hot and they don't come frosted like Pop-Tarts either they come with these little pouches of white icing that you put on it after it comes out of the toaster and the icing is still cold from the freezer but it is still a texture that you can squirt it out of the little pouch they are delicious it's been a long time since I had one now I think next time I go to the grocery store I'm going to get a box

@TransparentEclipse
@TransparentEclipse 3 жыл бұрын
It’s a movie that’s supposed to be offensive, I’m not surprised they use it. It’s similar to the jump street movies, the whole point is to say extremely perverse things to try and elicit a response from the audience. Tbh, it works.
@TransparentEclipse
@TransparentEclipse 3 жыл бұрын
Also, this movie is nearly 20 years old, the r word was hardly even foul language back then. Ppl were still going unpunished for bullying and lgbtq people were still being persecuted, I hardly think they cared about the r word
@LangkeeLongkee
@LangkeeLongkee 3 жыл бұрын
@@TransparentEclipse firstly, you're too defensive about that. That's weird. Second, the R word was seen as offensive then... Just like using "gay" as an insult was but the common thread is nobody cared, that's not an excuse if you were saying it back then. Just because nobody was cancelling you for saying it doesn't make it okay. Third, there were jokes in the movie that were clearly meant to be messed up, characters using the r word was not shown in that light, it wasn't treated as another of the offensive jokes, it was just a thing that people said, even "good" characters said it. Fourth, even if that wasn't the case and it was entirely just offensive jokes and that's it, that doesn't mean I have to like it?????? I'm allowed to be uncomfortable by that, especially as an actually disabled person who's had that word weaponised against me to the point where I get panic attacks when I hear it. I don't care why you say it, I don't want to hear it. If it's an offensive joke in your movie, go off you do you, but I don't have to watch it or like it. I don't care. I'm not sitting through a movie to get panic attacks every 15 minutes, if it was a racial slur the energy would be different. (And before you try anything like saying I cant compare it to a racial slur and assume I'm white not knowing what I'm talking about I'm black and part indigenous)
@TransparentEclipse
@TransparentEclipse 3 жыл бұрын
@@LangkeeLongkee to ur first and fourth points. First: I never defended anything, simply stated why I assume they used the word in the movie. I’m not saying it’s ok. Fourth: never said u have to like it, in fact I see absolutely nothing I said that would imply that u should be ok with the r word, u shouldn’t be. If I was implying u should be ok with it I would’ve said it. I would never imply that the word should be accepted in any light, no matter the intention or motivation behind using it. To the second and third points, I agree for the most part, I was just pointing out how times were back then, ppl were more free with their language because there wasn’t cancel culture. U could call someone gay and very few ppl would’ve stopped u. It’s the sad truth. I lived through it. I however do not condone misuse of language like that and I would happily tell off anyone who used any kind of slur against another human being. Nothing about my comment was intended to be defensive or enigmatic, I was simply stating my view on why I think it was used. I could be completely wrong, was just throwing out my thoughts. Hopefully that clears it up for u
@LangkeeLongkee
@LangkeeLongkee 3 жыл бұрын
@@TransparentEclipse you making all these excuses implies I should be okay with it. If I say "I'm uncomfortable with XYZ" I don't want to be told why it happened. I don't care. You making excuses comes across as "because it was the early 2000's it was okay, get over it".

Another American high School based movie with the new girl coming in that you should probably see is called John Tucker must die the gist is John Tucker is the most popular guy in school and he's always got multiple girlfriends from different cliques around the school so they don't know each other and he tells each of them their relationship has to be secret because his parents don't let him date during basketball season and then I guess he's in other sports so he can't date during those seasons either and you know none of his other girlfriends will find out

I wish I had commented this sooner but Love Simon would be a good movie to react to for pride month. It's also an American high school movie

'Pride Month' doth not exist within reality. * Rather. Anybody that doth delete this Comment of mine is a loser - akin unto the other lbtq advocates. * What's more these art sore loser types. * Of the World at large. Whereas I am a Cool Heterosexual - a born Winner whom doth not openly rebel. I do not so much as befriend lbtq persons and nor their advocates whom art clearly as dull and freakish as art the former. Rather. *

"I dont know if we can go around calling a kid Africa". - My Nigerian roommate always used to shout "SWEEEDEEE!! MYY SWEEDE" loudly across the campus and she laughed about the thought of me shouting "blackie' after her, when she realized how ignorant it sounded. Which of course i would never do, cause im swedish.Nor did i take offence to her calling me what i am. Its only sice the Gen Zs came around that ive started wondering..was that ok? when in reality, we were all cool and gen Z cause more trouble than they solve any also they seems to think im a bomm er cause im 30...i mean whose brain hasnt finished delevoping yet? Not even a diss, just facst5 look it up. Me at 21 when i found out about the pre frontal cortex" oh a couple of more years until my brain is mature" 21 years olds today. " Waahh waahh wahh my decisions and thoughts are valid even thought, actually and factually my brain isnt mature enough to make proper deicsions and the fact that you are telling me this, triggers me!" Seriously, how long is it gonna take for Gen Z to realize that youre only a victim as long as you want to be one.
