Delighted I was to see this. This reminded me of my days in Kashmir Valley where I was posted for several decades. I fell in love with Kashmir, her people, culture, etc. Now who are the Kashmiris? Kashmir has various tribes but majority of the people in Kashmir Valley are indigenous Aryan Central Asians and many of whom have now converted to Semitic-Islam. Hence, Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri Muslims are exactly the same people except their respective religions. Kashmiris are a very proud people and must be respected. Like us Jat-Sikhs no Kashmiri marries outside their clan the few who have come from pseudo-westernized or troubled families. Also once one loses his or her language all is gone. I love both the Kashmiri Muslims and their Hindu brethren the Pandits equally. Trust me Kashmiriyat will again flourish.
