Google BigQuery Tutorial

Google Big Query is part of the Google Cloud Platform and provides a data warehouse on demand. You can upload structured data into tables and use Google's cloud infrastructure to quickly analyze millions of data rows in seconds. In this video I’m going to give you a quick overview of how you can use Big Query as well.

I use it to store and blend digital marketing data from different sources like Facebook Ads, Google Ads and Google Analytics, to consume this data with PowerBI afterwards. I've been using the Stitch service to integrate all those data sources (except for Google Ads, which I was able to link using the native integration).

Julian, Great overview. I’ve been using GoogleSheets for Data Studio reports but have reached it’s capacity with 2years worth of data. I’m transitioning to GCP, it allows you to select 2 products for free. BigQuery is my first product selection. Any recommendations on the second product selection for a beginner in data visualization and cloud storage? Also, I’m assuming BigQuery will process the data queries much faster for GDS reports. Do you have more videos on BigQuery?

Yes, it is - indirectly via export or directly if you have GMP

Great video! But quick question: Can you use BigQuery to get real-time data within a Google Sheet? Let's say we have 100 franchises of McDonalds and each franchise uses Google Sheets to store sales data. Can BigQuery be used to extract this sales data in real-time to the Big Query data set interface?

you would need to have an extraction tool to stream the data in real time, so yes, it's possible
