When Jim Norris came to the National Bureau of Standards in the late 1970s as a high school student, he could have never imagined that for the next 45+ years, he would be responsible for building over 60 Standard Reference Photometers (SRPs) to measure ground-level ozone all over the planet. With retirement looming it's time to pass his knowledge to the next SRP builder, Peter Trask.

Hi Jim: Hope you have a great retirement when you do get to that point in your career at NIST. I certainly enjoyed it when you were in the division, and began traveling with the instruments to various countries to place and test them for other laboratories. I am also happy to see that you have produced instruments that are being used all over the world today, not only in the various measurement labs in other countries, but as a validation process that they use to check their local laboratories.
