graham was one of the first chefs i ever watched, other being martin yan. i loved how he made food so interesting and his enthusiasm was infectious.

The Galloping Gourmet was such a wonderful show, but I do commend Graham for making all these changes to support his beloved wife. A lovely man!

I don't think I've seen any of the episodes from this series, although I knew he did radical changes to his cooking after his wife's health problems. Britain was in the rationing system long after WWII, into the 50's I believe. Maybe they should have kept it for the meat. And based on the current obesity problems (all over the "industrial" world), maybe they should have kept the sugar and candy rations as well. PS: I think flank steak is the best, most wonderful, tenderest cut of beef Flash fried with veg and sauced over rice, pounded and stuffed and rolled for roulade. Yum.

Well, carbs and an affinity for alcohol certainly don't help! 🤣 I've been a vegetarian for a long time but I know quite a few extremely fit people who eat meat.
