Meat Loaf has been my favorite artist since I was 9 years old, 24 years ago. That was when I first heard "I Would Do Anything For Love". Everyone else was listening to BSB and I was blasting "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights". He had some hard times and so many health issues but despite it all he really left his mark. I'm so happy I saw him in concert in 2016. His voice wasn't as strong any more but he was still iconic and he put on one helluva show. Rest easy Meat. ❤🦇

I've always been a big Meatloaf fan. Sadly, I never got to see him perform, but my sister did. She has the memory of him coming on stage and spreading his arms, just as a flash of lightning from a storm hit, adding to the dramatic effect of it. One thing I noticed about this performance, was towards the end, the complete and utter respect the audience had for him, remaining completely silent as he finished the last verse. R.I.P. Big Guy.

The first time I heard this song Meat Loaf was singing to my soul. A lot of things had happened in my life and this song brought them into focus. I tear up every time I hear this song. Even now Meat Loaf sings with the same heart, soul and passion that he always has. I was hooked and fell in love in the '70's and I'm still hooked and in love today. We should be grateful that these videos and recordings are so readily available. This captures Meat Loaf at his absolute best with his vocal ability peaking. The song, as is most of his catalogue, is written perfectly for his style...it really is a beautiful piece lyrically and musically which, due to Father Time, will never be heard in its full glory again live as Meat's voice is well and truly shot. Matters little when I see just how great he was watching this.

Rest in glory to the man that changed music for me forever. The first time I had ever heard a Meat Loaf song was in the end credits of a bobs burgers episode where they were singing Bat out of hell. And then I heard Meat Loaf sing it and every expectation I had for what a song should be was shattered. I remember discovering later that there was an entire second act after the instrumental intermission that I had skipped over, and I realized that this was unlike any music I had heard before. The passion and conviction that he consistently sang with was stunning, and it was the perfect companion to the epic, melodramatic lyrics and sprawling compositions of Steinman. No one else has ever conveyed the drama and romanticization and grandeur that occupies my brain quite like that man. I have no doubt that his legacy will live on in car radios on the way home from finally hooking up with your high school crush, speakers in the shower at midnight while the woe of life is contemplated, and deep in souls everywhere.

Holy Crap... he’s still a powerful talent. Has the gift of telling a story while chilling us with his vocals. Incredible.

I think he is fabulous. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, and some of the songs are funny, some are really moving. All stories. So well performed and sung.
