MECAL "Taurus": 5 axes compact CNC for aluminum extrusions

Fully enclosed, compact 5 axis (X, Y, Z, A, C) CNC machining centre designed to work on extruded aluminum, light alloy, PVC and light steel materials.
The machine is equipped with a 8,5 kW (S1), 24.000 rpm, liquid cooled automatic tool changing electro-spindle with HSK F63 tool holder system. Rotary style, 12+1 tools capacity magazine is housed on the gantry for quick tool changes that also accommodates a 300mm saw blade.
Milling, drilling and tapping operations can be performed on 5 faces (top, front, back, right end and left end) with standard tools. End-milling operations can be done on both ends with a disc cutter. Straight, miter and compound miter blade cuts and notches are possible as well.
The machine is programmed using Mecal's geometrically assisted 3D CAM software as well as Mecal ISO codes. STEP converter is available as an option.
Standard configuration has 8 universal pneumatic clamps that are automatically positioned in axial direction simultaneously and independently by means of individual servo motors on each clamp. Thus, precise and rapid clamp position changes are achieved before or within the cycle.
There are 4 machining fields and 2 independent zones with separate doors that allow the machine to be operated in pendulum mode with one piece in each zone or two pieces on each zone depending on the piece length.
