I'm glad to hear that you've found enjoyment in Mech Arena after your experience with War Robots. This just goes to show how tastes and preferences in gaming can change over time and with the introduction of new game elements. It can indeed be overwhelming when a game continuously introduces new robots and weapons, making it feel like a struggle to keep up and maintain balance. Your feedback reflects that Mech Arena seems to offer a more stable gaming environment for you, with balanced gameplay and easy controls. It's fantastic that you've found a game that fits your preferences and has now become your favorite. As for the video, thank you for your kind words! WR was getting a bit too out of hand imo. I couldn't keep up with the leveling because it took too much time to level up everything individually and i would get mopped in higher matches. But i like how Mech Arena you can upgrade both weapons instead of each individual one but also the upgrade is instant. I also love how that the higher you are in MA, you still see people use mechs that you get near the beginning of the game compared to WR. I also love how Vibrant and Fast pace MA is compared to WR. It's in no way a perfect game but i had a lot more fun in it compared to the later days of me playing WR

Recently, mech arena has been getting more unbalanced mechs like Orion which places a death mark that speads and also war robots just released a HUGE balance update. Neither of these could be taken into account because they happened after the video had released. Before these 2 new things released I semi-agree with the options on the video. Also war robots has the feature to play with friends and a custom match, also Skirmish, Arena and Hunting Grounds are all game modes in WR that you didn’t mention, and maybe that was because they are limited-time.

Update for 2024. Mech arena has many more cons now. 1. They need more ideas. Lacewing is the legendary version of Tengu, which is the rare version of, is the legendary panther, which is the legendary Lancer. Blockho epic Puma. Onyx and Scorpius are basically the same. Eclipse is a legendary shadow. Sentinel is legendary Ares but the shield is vertical. And the worst is the killshot clones with: Uncommon Slingshot, Epic Killshot, Legendary Surge and Nomad. 2 Balance is much less prominent. Many mechs had their weaknesses. Guardian Zephyr and Killshot could be hammered with long range. Panther is great at sniping but only a little else. Lancer is deadly on roofs but is an easy target anywhere else. Redox Juggernaut and Brickhouse were all slow and massive targets. Newer mechs have barely any weaknesses. Bastion has a dang near impenetrable shield and absurd hp. Redeemer and Eclipse are basically immune to anyone's abilities. Orion's hunter's mark can wipe out an entire team. and the worst of all is Seeker, which can teleport behind enemies and gain a shield, making it impossible to kill. Their closest weaknesses are "slow, mediocre hp, teleporting to an unsafe location." This forces you to use legendary mechs and prevents you from using lower level but (debatably) cooler mechs. I haven't seen MD the healer, Arachnos with spider turret, and stalker with predator drive used by real players in months Lines between categories are much blurrier. Attackers are known for high energy capacity, Tanks have high hp, scouts are known for speed and support mechs are... just there. Tanks and scouts have been given enough energy capacity to rival attackers, tanks have enough hp to rival attackers, and of the last 15 mechs, only 2 have been support. Weapons are also similar. Arctorents deal great damage, make it hard to aim, can chain to other mechs, and are labeled as Epic Close-quarters Weapons. Yet they can reach medium-range combat. Javelins are rare guided weapons and are also rated at the same level. And then there's the carbine-a legendary assault weapon that is somehow even worse than the cannon, the default starter weapon. The gameplay in Mech Arena has significantly less strategy now. The focus has shifted from how well you synergize your loadouts or cooperate with your team to a more straightforward approach of 'who has the strongest weapon/mech'. This change may leave players feeling disappointed, as the game's strategic depth has been reduced to figuring out how to counter mechs, with tactics like flanking, system crashes, or charging through shields becoming less relevant. Now most counters are Rocket mortars, Em rifles or just hoping your opponent messes up. Mech Arena now requires players to make in-game purchases more often. The introduction of mods, which apply shields to mechs, has made already annoying mechs even harder to kill. Coupled with the scarcity of resources, especially since the removal of fortune blitz, and the lack of an option to recover implant parts, unlocking mechs has become near impossible. The gear hub makes this worse. To unlock higher tiers, you need to spend countless a coins and credits buying weak mechs/weapons to even unlock higher tiers. And many higher ranked weapons are extremly expensive. Epic mechs are about 3700 a coins. weapons are 2700 . Legendary mechs are 9300 and legendary weapons are 8300. Legenary pilots are 4200 rare pilots are 1200. And this is assuming you don't have to pay real money. And keep in mind, if you grind for a whole week you'll gain about 300 (400 if you have no life) on average. At this point i've left Mech arena and moved on to armored squad

And keep in mind, if you grind for a whole week you'll gain about 300 (400 if you have no life) on average." Response: Thank you for this comprehensive breakdown of the current state of Mech Arena in 2024! You’ve touched on a lot of important points, and it’s clear that the game has evolved in a direction that not all players are thrilled about. It’s disappointing to see how much overlap there is between different mechs, especially with so many feeling like reskins or slight variations of each other. This lack of originality can definitely make the game feel stale, as if it’s recycling old ideas rather than innovating new ones. For example, the fact that Lacewing is basically a legendary version of Tengu, which then connects to the other mechs in a cascading manner, really highlights the redundancy in mech design. The balance issues are particularly troubling. The older mechs, like Guardian, Zephyr, and Killshot, had clear strengths and weaknesses that required players to think strategically. You had to know when to deploy them and how to use them to their fullest potential. But now, with newer mechs like Bastion, Redeemer, Eclipse, and especially Seeker, it feels like there’s almost no downside. This imbalance makes it incredibly hard to justify using older, weaker mechs that might have more unique playstyles but can’t compete with the near-impenetrable shields and absurd abilities of the newer models. The fact that you haven’t seen certain mechs like MD the healer, Arachnos, or Stalker in use for months really says a lot about how skewed the balance has become. You’re spot on about the blurring lines between mech categories. When tanks have enough energy to rival attackers and scouts have the durability to tank hits, it dilutes the purpose of having specialized roles in the first place. And the scarcity of support mechs among recent releases further reduces the diversity of gameplay options. Weapons have their own set of problems, as you mentioned. The inconsistency in how weapons are categorized and balanced-like the medium-range capability of supposed close-quarters weapons-only adds to the confusion and frustration. It feels like the focus is shifting away from strategy and synergy to a simpler equation of who has the stronger weapon and mech combo. The game’s increasing reliance on in-game purchases and the removal of more accessible ways to earn resources (like Fortune Blitz) definitely seem like a push towards monetization at the expense of player experience. The introduction of mods that make already powerful mechs even harder to kill feels like another step in that direction. And the gear hub system, which forces players to buy weaker mechs and weapons just to unlock higher tiers, is a frustrating grind. With the costs of legendary items being so high, it’s easy to see how this could feel like a pay-to-win scenario. Grinding 300-400 A-coins per week, when you need thousands for high-tier items, makes the game feel more like a chore than a fun experience. Your analysis clearly shows a game that’s lost much of its strategic depth in favor of raw power and monetization. It’s understandable why many players, including yourself, are moving on to other games. Thanks for sharing this detailed update-hopefully, the developers take feedback like yours to heart and make some positive changes!

Awesome video! 100% agree Mech arena is a far superior Mech game to War Robots. Mech Arena's faster game play is more fun to play and watch. (I catch my wife peeking over my shoulder all the time to watch me play but other games she completely ignores lol) War Robots game play is way to slow. Takes a min or two to get anywhere on the map and the fights are so drawn out its a big snooze. I always said Mech Arena would be so much fun on large scale maps like war robots because of the faster game play. Can't wait to see what Armored Core 6 will be like. Elden Ring makers FromSoftware are making it so i think it has huge potential.

Wouldn't agree abour balance, although I haven't played War Robots, but in Mech Arena there ara some crazy OP Mech's like Surge, Guardian etc. Especially if they are with all stars, top weapons and pilosts, and game through you against them in your 3star juggernaut... also there are some OP weapons as well... lots of time feeling hopless in this game
@MidGame Жыл бұрын
I can understand your frustrations. In games like Mech Arena, balance can indeed be a complex issue. The feeling of being overwhelmed by overpowered Mechs like Surge and Guardian is not uncommon, particularly if they're equipped with high-end gear and skilled pilots. This scenario can certainly feel intimidating, especially if you're piloting a 3-star Juggernaut. One approach to address this issue is to study the strengths and weaknesses of each Mech and weapon. Overpowered Mechs may seem invincible, but every Mech has its weak spots and can be defeated with a well-devised strategy. The same goes for weapons. Understanding their range, damage, and rate of fire can help you evade or counter them. Additionally, developers typically aim for a balance in games like this, and feedback from players is often taken into account when tweaking and rebalancing the game. Therefore, sharing your experiences and suggestions on the game's official forums or social media platforms could contribute to future updates that might improve game balance. Also, remember that skill often prevails over gear. Even with less powerful Mechs or weapons, strategic play, good teamwork, and practice can lead to surprising victories. So keep practicing, find a good team, learn from every match, and your gameplay might improve over time. In conclusion, while there may be balance issues in Mech Arena, there are also strategies and avenues you can explore to increase your chances of winning.

I know this is quite a late comment but, you havent taken into account weapons like the zenit in war robots or the noris. they also have a minimum range :D On top o that the prismas deal more damage at range and less up close. Another good example is the spark, scourge and calamity which deal at their max range less damage and more damage up close. On top of that, you claim that war robots has slow gameplay but to me it is quite fast, including the TTK(time to kill) which is also very fast. This is only because, no hate to u, but the builds you were running in war robots was sub par at best and your builds in mech arena were quite viable. When making such comparisms please use the variables at an even playing field. Like, the bots u used in war robots were day 1 weapons but in mech arena those would have taken at least 2 weeks to get. it would be appreciated if you do make more fair and even judgements :D This is coming from a long time Warrobots player who is mostly on legend and someone who has played mech arena for like 250hrs. I would also like to add that mech arena looks way more "kid like" compared to the more tactical look of war robots :D

Thanks for your detailed comment! I appreciate the insights you've shared regarding the different weapons in War Robots and their varying damage outputs based on range. I apologize if my comparison seemed unfair or didn't take into account all the variables. In the future, I'll be sure to put more effort into providing a more balanced and even comparison. As for the gameplay speed, I understand that this can be subjective and can vary depending on the player's perspective and experience. I'll make sure to consider different play styles and builds when making comparisons in the future. I appreciate your feedback as both a long-time War Robots player and someone who has spent a considerable amount of time playing Mech Arena. I'll keep your comments in mind as I continue to create content and make comparisons between games. @UniformGem2 Жыл бұрын
Im a big fan of each game and have been playing both for a very long time. And this is my updated opinion. In terms of gameplay, war robots has mech arena beaten in EVERY way. More weapons, More bots, motherships, drones, Titans, and better game modes. War robots has triple the amount of weapons and bots mech arena has, allowing for more variety and more potential builds you can do. Mech arena has less bots and weapons and very few weapons are good past a certain point. Now in terms of graphics, war robots also has mech arena beaten in every aspect. But gameplay can only mean so much, so lets get to the important things, such as how the game runs. Mech arena has war robots beaten by how there are almost no bugs or glitches at all whatsoever, whereas in war robots, theres constant bugs such as being unable to spawn, frames repeating, etc. Mech arena's simplified graphics and system requirements means it is less likely to face lag and bugs, unlike war robots. Now to a more important part, the devs involvement with the community. Plarium is fairly involved in the community and talks a lot, however pixonic is the opposite. Devs never speak, community managers that have no affect on the game handle the social media platforms, and never go over things properly. Another important aspect we must look at, is the support team of each games. The support team of mech arena is active and will help you with any problems from minutes to a few hours after you write the email. But war robots is the opposite. You either never get responses, get a bot reply that just closes the ticket, or you get a community manager that does nothing and closes the ticket. And its not even an important community manager, its the managers who run the discord who also have no involvement in the game. Now onto the more pressing matters, the current state of each game. Mech arena is in a tight spot, they're close to being in a good spot with happy players, and they're one weapon/bot away from making players mad. War robots however, is in a worse state. The meta is constantly shifting as 1 bot, 1-3 weapons, 1 titan and 1 titan weapons are released monthly (not all at once but spread out, example is we get a bot this month and a titan and weapons the next month) This causes players to not be able to keep up for long. If you were f2p and got ahold of the new op bot, by the time you get it to a good level, it may be nerfed to hell, or be irrelevant. Now another important matter, how easy/hard it is to get equipment. Mech arena is worse than war robots in this category. Often times when something new releases, you have to do week long quests to get a single coin to open the chest, even then the chances are low and that hard work can easily be wasted. Likewise crate rushes are rare and your still not guranteed to get whatever is there. The changing crates weekly have either trash weapons, or op weapons. But they usually cost a-coins to open, and the chances then are still low. People can blow thousands of a-coins and not get the prize. Now war robots is much different, unlike mech arena, you can get a LOT more bots through the workshop. The workshop has some pretty good robots that can stand against the meta, an example is typhon, skyros, fenrir. Weapons are the same. Now the more important matter, how you progress in the game. In both games fighting puts you in leagues. Higher leagues stronger opponents etc. However you need to upgrade stuff in order to progress. This is where they even out. Meta botsand weapons in both games require different ways to level up. War robots has silver prices and a wait time for the item to upgrade, whereas mech arena has blueprints which are harder to get, but equipment levels up instantly. Due to this it can take over 2 months to max a bot or weapon in war robots, and in mech arena you spend weeks getting enough blueprints, then months getting a-coins to upgrade the ranks. Now For the most important part, and where war robots has the ultimate edge, content. War robots has MUCH more content and ways to customize. An example is pilots. In mech arena, pilots use implants and are limited to what they can do, while implants have edge in being better than pilot skills in war robots, (ability duration, cooldown, etc) But pilots in war robots can change a mech entirely. You can turn a tank into a speed demon, a beacon capper into a brawler, you can re-shape the whole bot. Likewise drones add a whole other layer of gamplay, same for motherships and titans. Motherships can make the difference and so can titans. However this is also a downside because all this contet can overwhelm new players. Likewise war robots has MANY currencies, 10 to be exact. Due to this war robots can be overwhelming to new players. In short, mech arena is simple and has an edge over war robots in the way that it doesn't update as much, the meta doesn't change, but its lack of content and freedom to make builds puts it to a disadvantage compared to war robots. Mech arena right now is in a better state than war robots, but is slowly becoming the new war robots. So I say they're even as they both have their downsides and upsides
@MidGame Жыл бұрын

Your comparison of gameplay, graphics, and performance highlights the key differences between the two games. War Robots certainly has the advantage when it comes to a greater variety of weapons, bots, and game modes, while Mech Arena's simpler graphics and system requirements make for a smoother gaming experience with fewer bugs and glitches. It's interesting to see how each game's developer engagement and support team performance can impact the overall player experience. Your observation that Mech Arena's support team is more responsive and involved with their community is noteworthy, as it contributes to a more positive gaming environment. The current state of both games is an important consideration for players, and you've detailed the challenges each game faces in terms of maintaining a balanced meta and accessible equipment acquisition. While War Robots has more content and customization options, the complexity of the game can be overwhelming for new players. On the other hand, Mech Arena's simplicity might limit player creativity, but it provides a more stable gaming experience. Ultimately, your conclusion that both games have their upsides and downsides is a fair assessment. Each game has unique aspects that appeal to different players, and it's great to see a detailed comparison that highlights these differences.

So lately in war robots weapons and robots are receiving 50%+ nerfs as if nothing and some weapons receive nerfs as bad as 80% some receive over hundred percent too (this weapon got its damage reduced by 35% and its reload time increased from 5 seconds to 12 seconds lmao)

It sounds like the developers are making some significant balance changes. These adjustments can be frustrating, especially when a favorite setup is affected. It's crucial for the game's longevity to maintain balance, but it's also important that the changes are communicated and implemented thoughtfully to keep the player base engaged and satisfied.

Having played both games over the last couple weeks I can give my thoughts here; War Robots is fun for a day or two… then as you start leveling and building a few mechs you are immediately matched against end game meta opponents. I tried to keep grinding and be patient but it is incredibly unbalanced. Mech Arena on the other hand, will only match you against players of similar strength (unless you go in with a friend of much higher power level, just stick to matches with friends at yours). Hands down Mech Arena is a great gaming experience, Robot Wars I’ll never pick up again ;)
@MidGame Жыл бұрын
It's definitely frustrating when a game doesn't have balanced matchmaking. It sounds like War Robots didn't provide a fair playing field for you, which can make the game feel less rewarding and more stressful. On the other hand, it's great to hear that Mech Arena has a more balanced approach to matching opponents. It’s always a more enjoyable experience when you’re playing against someone at your skill level. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience!

personally I prefer war robots over mech arena because it starts out slow and allows the player to get a feel for the controls, it then starts to introduce more complex gameplay mechanics such as active abilities, active modules, passive modules and passive pilot skills, every tier of robot in the game is designed to add upon a previous concept, an example of this is giving you the griffin as a tier 2 robot that can jump and then they added upon this by adding the flying dragon robots and adding robots that can jump with an extra effect on the end for example invaders incursion ability which reduces nearby enemies firepower upon landing. However, I will not deny that the game has its flaws such as the heavy pay to win meta and how long it takes to access new content or level up equipment. I have tried to play mech arena but I found the whole experience confusing as there was no real indicator of what to do with resources, on top of this when I tried the game it was a near identical game to war robots with most content seeming to originate from war robots with a small twist and overall the game feels too cramped as the maps are so small which removes any need for sniping gameplay so you are mostly doing close range brawls, war robots has a wide variety of different maps that are different sizes which are preferable to different types of gameplay, for example canyon is a great example of a map where sniping seems to rule the map but still has room for robots to get up close with all the obstacles scattered around. Similar things could be said about factory map that has plenty of opportunities for all kinds of gameplay. War robots matchmaking isn't bad on IOS or android. However, on steam because there are so few players and it isn't a cross platform game you can wait a very long time for a game. ( do consider that this is my personal opinion and anyone CAN disagree)

the main difference between the two games is how easy it is to get into the game and the p2w aspect.war robots is a game that is heavily dependent on p2w because if you want a new mech or weapon you have to wait like weeks to month to create just one weapon and by the time you make the weapon of mech the game will have a few new mechs or weapons the insanely outclass the previous ones but if you want to enjoy yourself then you have no choice but to spend the gold currency instead of silver and as for how easy it is to get into the game well it can get overwhelming pretty fast .now mech arena in terms of p2w isnt on the level as war robots .yes you can spend money to upgrade your weapons and mech but it really isnt necessary as you can still enjoy the game without spending a fortune .now it is very easy to get into the game as there arent too many features and mechanics .

I'm sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with Mech Arena's chat system. It's important to maintain a respectful and friendly environment, but I understand that you feel the restrictions are too strict. I hope the developers will review your case and consider lifting the ban. In the meantime, you might find enjoyment in focusing on the gameplay and strategizing with your mechs. Remember, there's more to the game than just the chat feature. Best of luck, and I hope things work out for you!

@MidGame the problem is this anybody can get offended by anything these days. They have no guidelines in place of chat. If you swear at someone ok but if i say dogs are a good part of a diet some get offended because they love dogs but some countries eat them. I asked them to show how using my language offended someone and of course they won't. I believe they have no set guidelines like other games and it's just to cater to people spending more money who have attitudes. This is not the case in every scenario im sure but be transparent about the situation as they occur not just say you violated our policy and that's it, if I don't know how I violated it then how can I know what not to say again ? Just a bad company using feelings to determine if someone's feelings have been violated.

My only criticism of the video. Calling stuff you pay for in ge, as donations. No, its microtransactions. Donation is usually a positive trait. Microtransactions are more accurate. You're spending money on non physcial items that only serve you in the game and usually priced hogher than they should. I barely agree digital should be priced over $15.
