BMW in BS6 is very high maintenance needed bike. I am using apache 160 4v bs6. Not a single issue in three years. Also fuel pump issue will always disturb you if you are not maintaining enough fuel. Although it also depends on luck. Some of the bs3 users are also sad with engine issues.

BS3 are great ✌🏻. Anyone with basic understanding of engine working can do atleast basic maintenance that's not the case with lastest, which requires special skills, due to electronics. And ofcourse, quality is made less to make vehicle require "servicing" frequently.

I have Hero splendor plus 2016 april model that is BS-3, I almost driven 1lac 54k with only one time 25 number piston boring at after i crossed 1 lac13 k kilometres and engine is still not yet opened alhamdulillah. timely serviced and caring and its still in a immaculate running condition without any single fault and Sound is still like new one.

My 18 years old Caliber 115 is still in good condition. I've no idea; how much kilometre it ran, as after 1.2 lakhs KM the speedometer stop working . Secondly have Honda X Blade BS 4 model. In last 5 years this bike also ran over 1 lakh kilometers. This one is also in good condition. There was some other bikes for short time but the Caliber 115 which have only 112 CC Engine is great.

I had BS-4 activa. I was very annoyed with its starting problem especially in winter morning. Now my new activa BS-6 is trouble free because this has a fuel injected engine with e-20 fuel compatible. Some new useful features are also added such as side stand ignition control, better front suspensions, outer fuel lid etc. So, only engine durability may not the only reason to keep constantly our old vehicles. Change of technology is also the factor.
